As long as you do the nandroid backup and then save the nandroid folder to a safe place on your pc(I also zipped it and emailed it to my gmail account, and don't quote me on this) I THINK it's almost fool proof.

Had my phone for a couple weeks now and spent the same amount of time researching rooting.
The only question that I have is if Telus, or HTC for that matter, will void warranty over a rooted phone. Or even if they can tell once 1.6 is put back on.
Thats the only stumbling point I'm having over rooting and installing custom roms.
Good on you djbasik for wanting to prepare something for the Telus users it will help me in the next week when I finally take the plunge.

I actually started the goldcard method last week, or tried at least. my computer doesn't have a card reader :s do i need to buy one? or is there a way to do it without?
