1. There is no sms/notification vibration option to choose.

2. "Task manager" do not reflect all apps used.

3. Though i set screen to switch off by 30secs, it can switch off within a few secs.

4. Watching 720p youtube videos are still laggy

5. Need to install facebook app manually from market, as well as ebuddy, though i thot theres an IM for samsung.

6. Dunno how SNS works. the sync to facebook is causing alot of problems.

7. Sunlight legibility decreases for SUPER AMOLED when set at lowest brightness

8. Batt life seems to be a prob (i charged for hrs, and today it only lasted for 15hrs)

*EDIT: mines G7, printed on the battery. I saw others like state G9*

9. If there is data plan, it is automatically connected when u start the phone (i assume, cuz there is no popup to ask abt connection like in Win Mobile)

10. Socialhub is actually nothing as compared to FRIENDSTREAM from HTC

there are still more for exploration. will update again. if not. everything still works well, and android platform is still as interesting as it is.

Can i get a comment from you on these??

i have few questions as well , bare with me please :D
will try to help

1-How about the Loudspeaker .. How Loud is it ?
not very loud..usable though

2-the device looks huge in pictures .. how does it feels in hand ?
been using iphone so i like the size ... quite subjective. feels good on hand

3-how about the fingerprints resistant ?
on the phone..its a magnet.

4-can you turn off TouchWiz ?
not until it gets rooted. interface is quite nice

5-in general , is it a go or a no-go ? give us a brief review please
fit depends on which phone u r coming from. I just sold my HTC desire. All i can say the "perfect" phone will be both combined.

the galaxy has a nice camera and good video shots..but no flash???
I must say the desire's interface was a little faster.

Had no problem with Desire on Mac but cant seem to get the mac to recognise the galaxy.

Can i just ask what you find better about the Desire over the Galaxy?

I will be coming to this phone from the Sony Ericsson X10i so i don't think i will be dissapointed lol

I have to decide to either get the Desire or the Galaxy S..
What do u think that the desire is better than the galaxys? and whats the advantages of the galaxys over the desire?
Is the super amoled much better than amoled?
Is the speed of the galaxy-s's CPU noticeably faster than the desire's snapdragon?
Thanks.

so what?
if he's willing to give them answers its always better to hear from the actual user with retail model than the reviewers with pre-production ones

No issue. if i can help i will answer. I am not much of a writer and i dun usually write reviews. I can answer questions form a user point of view if i can help. cheers.
hope everyone gets their hands on one soon

You said that watching youtube 720p vids are laggy. Does the phone lag when you load 720p movies onto your SD card and play it back? If so then that's dissapointing for a multimedia device like this.

I can't say about the Desire cos I don't own one. But the main advantage I guess would be the screen display. It is absolutely brilliant!

Is the super amoled much better than amoled?
Yes, I'm not sure about the differences, but aesthetically it is much better than conventional amoled.

Is the speed of the galaxy-s's CPU noticeably faster than the desire's snapdragon?
There is some speed comparison done. I have read somewhere that the Hummingbird outperforms the Snapdragon, albeit not by alot, but nevertheless it is STILL better.

Below are the applications that I use:

  1. CurveFish widgets - Wifi, Volume/Vibrate/Silence, Bluetooth, Autolock, GPS, AutoRotate, Autosync, Brightness control (need to disable the auto brightness feature), 2G/3G switch and Battery.
  2. Marketplace shortcut
  3. APnDroid - Disable automatic connection to GPRS. Not good, with bugs. When you disable it first time, after sometime when you enable it again, it does not work. I have put it in the ignore list of the Advanced Task Killer.
  4. cnCalendar Widget 1.0
  5. Advanced Task Killer 1.7.9 - good application to save battery consumption.
  6. AppHistory 1.0.1
  7. Apps installer 0.2.1
  8. Aquarium Fish Live Wallpaper - Nice but sucks battery like a vampire!
  9. Calculator 1.3.3 - Scientific calculator
  10. Chinese Dictionary (comes as Samsung Application)
  11. English Dictionary (~ditto~)
  12. cnCalendar 1.1.191
  13. Compass 1.1
  14. ConvertPad - Unit converter 1.4.0
  15. Earth 1.0
  16. Fireworks Live Wallpaper (battery guzzler as well!)
  17. Google PinYin 1.2.6
  18. Google skymap 1.5.1
  19. Google Translate 1.1
  20. GPRS Monitor 1.0 - doesn't seem to work at all! need time to find out
  21. Lookout - Antivirus program (not bad)
  22. SPC - SMS / Phone firewall - installed but no time to try it yet
  23. System Monitor - small program to check your memory usage
  24. Tone Picker 1.0 - Customized ringtone. For calls, notifications and mail. Note that no differentiation of sms and other notifications type, unlike winmo program touchpal. Also no such things as notification for missed calls.
  25. Uninstaller 1.3.5
Besides, the phone comes with mobile tracker built in. Yet to try it out. Also widgets are stored on the 1st home screen. Very useful when u attend meetings, conference training, etc etc..
tat's all so far....

Yes screen on the galaxy and the size of the screen was what made me sell my Desire.
Speed wise i found the Desire better. Every opening of app was fast and no lag.

I am no expert, but i would say the screen looks nicer by at least 10% compared to mt desire.

As mentioned, i find opeing of apps a bit more laggy on the galaxy. not sure why. thats just my observation.
