I've seen lots of threads about your favorite apps, but I don't recall one specifically for widgets. I have lots of free space between my 7 home screens and am looking for some great widgets to fill them with.

Post up your favorite.

Here are a couple of mine:

SportsTap - Sports score widget that allows you to pick your favorite team. For example, mine is set to the White Sox and the widget is a 4x1 (one straight row) that always shows the most up-to-date score for the White Sox current game. If they aren't currently playing it has the time and date of their next game

Pandora - Most are familiar with this one. As soon as I get in my car I start Pandora playing through the FM Transmitter so the Pandora widget is a must-have on my main home screen.

Mine are similar:

SportsTap: (4x1) But my widget comes with a winning team: the Twins :D
Pandora: (4x1)
Agenda widget: (2x2)Integrates my calendars and Astrid
Calendar Pad: (4x4) one color-coded shot look at entire month.
Weatherbug Elite: (1x1 on homepage, 4x1 on another). Weather for today and next 3 days.
Bookmarks Widget: (4x4)
Brightness widget: (1x1) easily toggle screen brightness (i.e. I'm outside and can't see crap).

I'm still looking for one more magical widget.

High five! Me too!

SportsTap: (4x1) with the Twins and Flyers at the moment.
Last.FM: (4x1) Love this. My most used music app by a long shot.
Dazzle: Quick toggles for my volume, brightness, wifi, bluetooth, airplane mode, and auto sync. It's pretty awesome.

I'm guessing there are better ones of these kinds out there, but for now, these widgets help me immensely:
Volume Toggle: One touch to change the volume to any of my settings. In the past, I remember turning the volume down, but media volume stayed up. With this widget, now I can just click it once before work to turn everything into vibe.

Battery Widget: Very simple widget that tells me how much battery I have left. If you "click" on it, it also allows me to turn on/off main battery offenders.

Right now I have,

Engadget Widget 1x4
FML Widget 1x4
Calendar Pad 4x4
HTC Twitter-whole page,
Weatherbig elite
Google search
beutiful widget home screen
Volume Toggle Pro 1x2
oh and the 1x4 HTC power management widget (the one that has the bar accross that toggles wifi blutooth sat sync and brightness.

All in all my phone is super full and glorious looking. Battery life not bad either!

I got rid of my contacts widget and just added a folder of my favorites. Now I just tap this folder and I get a nice list. No picture, but a good functional list.

I second this. Go Twins!

Here are the widgets I have currently installed on home screens:

Beautiful Widgets Smaller Home
AudioManager Small
Dazzle 2x1
MixZing (text only)
Pure grid calendar (4x2 3 weeks)
Pure messanger (list/4x1)
Search
Touiteur 4x2

I am able to fit everything (including icons for the 30+ applications I have installed) on 3 screens. Mostly to due to the use of the FoldersOrganizer application.

What do you mean by that? FM Transmitter?

My guess would be he hooks it up to a physical FM transmitter, like an iTrip for the iPod/iPhone, but one that goes in a 3.5mm jack instead of the proprietary iPod plug. You tune your car stereo to a station that doesn't have a clear signal otherwise, and set the transmitter to broadcast to that station. Simple to use, but I prefer a straight aux jack in car stereos.

I tried Sports Tap and I hated it. Just didn't like the way it looked or performed. I switched to ScoreMobile (4x1) and love it.

ScoreMobile for Android by Score Media Ventures Inc. - doubleTwist Android Market

It looks great as well as scrolls through all the scores of all sports that are current. Very useful. You can skip easily through the scores to bring up one you are looking for.

Sorry for the delayed response about the FM transmitter, but this is exactly right. I use a physical FM transmitter by Griffin that uses goes through the 3.5mm jack. As long as you can find a station with a relatively clear signal it works awesome. Can be a pain in the butt sometimes, but I don't have an AUX jack so it has to do.

sorry, dumb question, what's 1x4, 2x4, 4x1, etc?? is it width? are the widgets customizeable? Thanks

They are not customizable, but some programs have different widgets. They mean dimensions of space they take up. Your screen has 16 squares (4 over, 4 down), so a 4x1 widget means it takes up 4 over, 1 down. An icon is 1x1, as it takes up only one square.
