Help Anyone have light leakage problems?

Mine has very noticeable leak by the home and menu buttons =/.

I bought it at RS, would they be able/willing to exchange it for me? It's just very off-putting.

I'd also only be able to take it to RS and not a Sprint store, am I right?

Yes, everyone has noticed these problems. But it's not a big deal for me as long as the room I'm in is not pitch dark.

How bad is it for you? It's very noticeable right below the home button for me, and somewhat noticeable in the menu button, and this is with me being in a fairly lit up room, no artificial lights, but it's only 1:47 pm here and the sun is still shining through the window.

I realize it may be seem like nitpicking, but if I am sticking with this phone for 1+ year plus, I want it to be as great as possible.

i notice a small amount on the right hand side in the corner. not a big deal, i consider it a "unique feature". everyone else just is not as lucky as me.

Now THAT'S a good attitude! :)

It seems silly to worry about something so insignificant when you're holding an EVO in your hands.

Nope! As much as I've heard about this I am glad to say I have none. Maybe it's to make up for all the defective Pre screens I got stuck with.

edit: never mind. Just realized that if I look at just the right angle when they are lit up I can see a sliver of light. Not a deal breaker for me. I had to really look to find it and I think I have realistic expectations for manufacturing. As long as the phone holds together and lasts well through the year, I don't mind little stuff like that.

i dont think its silly. even though i personally wouldn't pay any mind to it, a lot of ppl have been looking forward to this phone for a while and dropping $450+ (or $200 + contract), its reasonable to be upset at what looks to be a lack of attention to detail on HTC's part. Apparently, theres a good number of units out there that has this problem, and HTC could have easily fixed it in the factory. Regardless of whether its a first gen or not, i think it wouldve been a simple fix for HTC.

Interested in seeing how everyone's phone is today? I had no light leakage problems yesterday when I bought it but I definitely do today, mostly under the home and search buttons. If I lightly press down on that area, it covers up the light for a few minutes but eventually the leak comes back. I noticed it this afternoon so it's not just something that happens in the dark.

Got mine at Radioshack and also considering exchanging it - may not seem like a "huge" deal but it's really annoying when you notice it everytime you pick up the phone.
