I don't have my Evo yet.... but I've read that there are 2 facebook apps to choose from during setup.... Facebook for Android, and Facebook for HTC Sense.

1) - What is the difference between the 2? Should I choose one over the other, or does it not really matter?
2) - Can I use 2 different Facebook accounts? (1 for FBFA, 1 for FBFHTCS), and would it give me the option to choose which account I wanted, when I wanted to upload a photo, do a status update, etc....

Thanks for your help!

They're kind of redundant. If you want the actual Facebook app (Profile, Inbox, Notifications, Friends, etc) then get Facebook for Android. Facebook for HTC Sense only ties in facebook integration into contacts and when you share your photos

Weird thing is...when I ran Appbrain, it told me to update Facebook and now I seem to have both. Problem is that when I try to add certain facebook contacts to my favorites/speed dial widget, the list only goes like halfway through my contacts so some of them cant add facebook data. Not sure if I screwed up having both installed but even re-syncing hasn't fixed it. Might have to delete and then re-add the account under Sense Facebook.

how do you enable both. when i go to accounts and sync it wont let me add a new account for the facebook for android app.

It let me put a separate account on each one (FB for HTCsense and FB for Android, the normal stock android app). It did exactly what was hoping it would do!

you just go to settings>sync accounts, or whatever, and then "add account", and it should allow to select which one you want. You can't add 2 accounts to each, though, you just have to log out and log back in with your other account if you wanna use 2-3 accounts on the same app. I'm no expert (just had this thing 24 hours now), but that's what I've found in my limited experience so far.

I use both.

I have 2 facebook...A personal facebook for my friends, family and such
and then i have a modeling facebook completely dedicated to my modeling.

Facebook for android is used for my personal account...it allows me to reply to messages, allows me to comment on people's wall posts and write on their walls....
I also upload all the pics i've taken and trust me in the 2 days ive had an evo, ive taken quite a few pix of myself lol using the android app.

Only thing i hate is...1)No chat, 2)To see certain things someone posted a comment on it takes you to the browser.

Iphone app for android is the best i've seen but from my understanding i don't think the android facebook app is the official "facebook app" like iphone

FOr the htc facebook app, i sync my modeling facebook account to it to keep up with what the people are saying. It really doesn't do much except like ppl stated above sync facebook with your contacts and you can update your status.

I finally found the 2 account FB solution. Use the Android FB app for your main account, and download BuzzDeck from the market. You can add a FB card and stay signed in to that. It won't sync up contacts or let you chat, but at least you can access both accounts.
The reason BuzzDeck seems to work is that it doesn't really on the browser. I used to use the HTC Sense version for my main account and the FB app for my other. Problem was, every time I'd need to click anything from my main account, it would take me to the browser, which was tied into the FB app, thereby showing me the wrong account info. Confused? Yes, so was I.
It's not perfect, but it helps me out, as I keep separate family and friends accounts.

Personally, I think that the HTC Sense version really just confuses things.

Please let me know if this info helps anyone else!

I got confused at 1st too having Facebook app on phone and the one for HTC sense. I still don't fully understand it. I do have Friend Stream open sometimes but usually I just go to the browser and to FB best way for me. Having this big screen and fast browser is great for me. But on my Touch Pro 2 when I commented or made a status it would say sent from mobile phone or HTC Sense. I commented from the web browser and from the app and noticed it didn't say that. Just curious cause I commented from my phone on break one night from work and someone thought I was on the work computer on FB.

But when you guys talk about Facebook app for Android that's the app that came with the phone right? Now a different one from the marketplace? I still like just going to the browser it takes you to m.facebook.com then mine goes to some touch facebook site. I do like the app that is on the phone though it's better than the one on my TP2. I don't think it's the same. But on my TP2 I mostly just went to the web browser to get there too. I had it set up as my home page.

lol how exactly did u delete it?
root perhaps?

if so couldnt u do a nandroid backup

if not by root
how exactly did u delete it lol

root... It disappeared after I ran the the file someone posted that removed the sprint bloatware.

So.. Any suggestions on how to get it back, without having to crap the phone out.

I didnt do a backup.. Cuse I had nothing really to back up.

Not really a big deal, since all I lack is the facebook sync which was kind of anoying, mostly due to it placing duplicates and the fact some of my friends are ******ed and put numbers such as 867-5309..
