I am wondering how can i get some free ringtones for my hero..

I am currently using Ringdroid (get it from the market) to edit mp3s I've stored on the SD card. It's super easy!

What benefits does this app have over the built in ringtone clipper that comes on the Hero? Does it add some sort of advanced functionality? Just curious. Thanks.

I haven't used the built in and truthfully didn't know it existed. But Ringdroid does many things. First, it allows you to select any portion of the song selected, not just the beginning, also, you can make it as long as you like. Then you can save the selected sound bite for a ringtone, alarm or notification sound respectfully. Pretty much all you might need to do with selecting, making and setting a sound onto the Hero.

I used both when I had a Hero. I prefered Ringdroid. Just seemed easier to work with and truth be told, I didnt know about the rintone trimmer until after I had used Ringdroid, By that time, most of the ringtones I wanted were set.
