I just realized that there is no way to make an ICE on the lock screen.

This is most disturbing. Most every smart phone i've had offers a way to create a custom message on the lock screen.

You can make a lockscreen wallpaper with you ICE info. on it, but that makes for a non-attractive lockscreen

My Nokia was worse. You can't do ANYTHING until you type in the password. Not even 911.

Like the other guy said, just hardcode it into your lockscreen wallpaper. The resolution is 320 x 480 (W x L). Just put your current wallpaper into a picture editor and type in the info you want. If you use a half way decent editor with a good font that anti-aliases the text, it will look fine. Its a little inconvenient if you want to change screens though.

This one works, and you can add a custom message to the lock screen. It's a bit expensive, but it allows you to add ALL of your medical information.

I added a color note to my home screen that says ICE so that's the first thing you see after the lock screen. As long as your lock screen isn't password protected then they can access your home screen and see the ICE note. That's what I did. Simplest solution i could come up with

I have found that it eats the battery a bit, and I'm still trying to figure out how to not have a "double lock screen"... but I have meds that I *have* to take, and this is what I'm using while I wait for my medicalert bracelet. If I can make it work the way I want, I'll keep using it even after I get my bracelet.

I just got it and set it for a 15 second delay for the lock screen, that way it doesnt interfere with normal use of the lock screen, or the double screen... unless you are listening to music... we will see how that goes.

Actually, there is something related I'd noticed and resolved today...
My lock screen is pattern protected and I saw that it said, "This phone belongs to: Antivirus protected".
I couldn't figure out where in settings I could change that to at least say my name when I rationalized that since it said Antivirus protected that it might be associated with my Antivirus app... sure enough, in the app's settings it gives you 2 short lines (very short, maybe 25-30 characters apiece) and a Lost Message with a contact option.
The 2 lines and contact are editable and can easily be used as an ICE instead of lost phone message. The regular Antivirus app is free and if interested the setting is under Antivirus>Settings>Remote Management>Lost Message (check Lost Message enabled).

Ah, that helps a lot! I just set it to 3 seconds, and that makes all the difference when turning my alarms off. Thanks!

If anyone would like this done, but doesn't have access to a decent image editor (or doesn't know how), I'll edit your lock screen wallpaper for you. Just shoot me a PM with the image and whatever message you'd like it to say.

Is there going to be a Smart-ICE app for Android as well as the iPhone? I like the way that app looks.
