After looking around at the forums for awhile now, there's one thing in common with almost 90% of the threads I read. There is alway's someone complaining about the 2.1 update. Most commonly:

-I haven't gotten it yet, I hate T-mobile.
-I haven't gotten it yet, I hate Motorola.
-I haven't gotten it yet, I hate everyone.
-I'll never buy another Motorola phone.
-I'll switch service providers.

And the list just goes on and on. I am hoping the moderators of this forum make this an "Official" sticky thread where everyone can vent their views and hate.

I wasn't starting this thread to push blame on one entity or the other. I was simply stating I'm tired of reading every thread and seeing a slew of people commenting on the future release of 2.1. Let's let them complain here so I can actually read/review/dictate a response to someone's original posting.

It's getting rediculous. Let the poll help them out, the reply's for someone to vent if necessary.

Wasn't it not too long ago rumored that you guys would receive 2.1??

No, it's not rumored any longer. Motorola has posted on their "Managers' Corner" that we are getting the update sometime in Q2. Which is perfectly fine by myself.

FYI- I'm the one that voted we will get it when we get it. Realistically even with 1.5 (Cupcake) being our current [non-rooted] operating system, most find it better than anything else offered by another operating system. I'm anxious for the new release but I'm stable with what I have.

Some are talking about leaving T-mobile, Motorola, Android... simply because of this release being out a few months later than it 'could' have been. MotoBlur with Android is what makes the CliQ a great phone to many. If they are dis-satisfied with the way we are getting our updates and so forth, I suggest getting another Android phone, or simply relaxing.

Hey look on the bright side.

If you get stuck on 1.5 you still have that cool motoblur interface.

I am coming from a Behold 2 and being stuck on that phone period is a pain in the ass to say the least.

Thank god I am getting a free MT3GS from TMO.......... but I was almost tempted to take the Cliq over the Slide....... almost.

The Flipout will ship with android 2.1 and the devour has 1.6 both with motoblur so you guys should get an update.

i had a update yesterday saturday 5th of june from htc for my desire which is on 2.1
it was a 2.1 update if thats any good for you im on t-mobile

Well, no, that doesn't help us CliQ users out much. Thanks for the post though.

The main reason I foresee this update taking so long would be the MotoBlur interface. Doesn't matter that Android can come out with these new Android versions every other week, if Motorola cannot keep up with them for their own MotoBlur interface.

Even with that Motorola should be able to stabilize the software with each new OS. The firmware doesn't change that much from version to version

Check this link out guys
Motorola unveils 2.1 upgrade roadmap for most of its Androids - GSMArena.com news

THE ARTICLE READS ;The talk of the Android world is mostly Froyo updates but there are still plenty of devices that haven't even made it to Eclair. Well, there's hope for some of Motorola's own as the company just revealed its upgrade plans for a number for smartphones.
The Motorola CLIQ (or DEXT if you will) and CLIQ XT (a.k.a. QUENCH) will be the first to get a taste of Android 2.1. Their updates from 1.5 (Cupcake) to Eclair should come before the end of Q2, which means somewhere in the following 9 days.
The Motorola BACKFLIP owners should be next to celebrate as their update will be pushed in the following quarter. The source only mentions the AT&T BACKFLIP units, but we guess once the update is ready, releasing it to the Euro handsets can't take too long.

I just rooted my phone last night and installed a few roms...so i doubt i'll be able to update to the 2.1 OTA...in fact Eclair is one of the ROMs i installed last night. Didn't like it due to lack of some basic features...but then again it wasn't official. I have to find a way to unroot my cliq and then hopefull i'll get the update.

Wow Motorola can kiss my ass when my contract with T-Mobile ends this Sept.
Why make a product and continue making the same product ( Cliq DX) if you have no plans on updating it?
I don't care for motoblur anymore it can kiss my ass. Its worthless and slows down my phone( CLiq).
HTC seems to be the way im going after this, hopefully by september there'll be something waaay better than anything else on the market now and I'll just pick that up. But as for Motorola... Keep up with your shit! and if you're not going to update it, don't blow smoke up my ass saying you will. Not once but twice! I will never rely on motorola again.
I know some of you will say im bitching, I am.
But I paid full price for this phone the week it came out, so I have more than a right to bitch. Especially considering the fact that we were promised this update months ago.

its the complaint thread...you due to your opinion lol.

but i kinda have to agree. I will be migrating over to Verizon once my tmobile contract is up. its bs my wifes G1 is more uptodate then my phone. but i guess the nex1 is the good option. but with crappy plan options especially with a family.

and i think the rumor is saying end of this year Andriod 3.0 (Gingerbread) and phones with dual proccesors...which i will be all over.

CLIQ 2.1 upgrade - news

For those asking for an update regarding a software upgrade on CLIQ in the U.S., we've made a decision to take more time on the release to optimize the experience in some key areas. We will continue to work to deliver it as soon as possible and apologize that we have been unable to provide an upgrade to these users in Q2 as planned.

We are working hard to provide an upgrade to Android 2.1 as soon as we can. Our consumers’ experience is our first priority and we will provide an upgrade when we can deliver the best possible user experience.
