I want all you people who just paid an early termination fee to get an evo to remember the following list that iPhone cannot do:

1. Multitask!
2. Holy crap FLASH IN YOUR WEB PAGES
3. Switch out the battery
4. Skip iTunes
5. 4G internet
6. REAL cell phone coverage

And most importantly:

7. Up to 50% less than your AT&T BILL.

So.. any more threads about how the evo doesn't "scroll as smoothly" or "worse battery life" will get a link back to this thread.

Well, the iPhone does have battery life, which kinda negates the need for swapping out the battery.... Of course, if your battery dies, then you're SOL. I'm not an iPhone owner, just pointing out your 3rd point.

If im on a camping trip i'd rather bring 3 $3 ebay batteries than 3 iphones.

I know, extremely rare and hypothetical situation but still, sometimes you cannot charge your phone.

I think a lot of the bit**ing and moaning are due to lack of understanding. Most people dont read the manual and automatically come on here and make an apocalyptic post about something they expect to work one way when in fact it works differently bc this is a different OS. Then you also have some legitimate trolls :)

IMO, I agree with #5,#6, and #7. The other points, not so much.

Multitasking is coming, Flash slows web pages down, for me I would rather have better battery life than switch batteries, and finally I kinda like iTunes and how it syncs music/apps.

I think I read somewhere where former iPhone user said one of the features of he missed was the fact the space bar wasn't centered in landscape mode.

Like are you kidding me?

The damn bar alone is about 20% the size of the iPhone's screen and he said that?

So I don't blame the OP for making this thread. Anal critique of the EVO based on illogical personal 'preferences' equals tolling.

This.

I am still learning about Android and how or if to use such apps as the ATK, and making sure I don't leave on the 4G option when not using it as a hotspot.

I think the battery is fine so far, it lasting about as long as my 3G and a bit shorter than my wides 3GS but for the options I now have, not even a comparison. The level of customization, hotspot, multitasking, flash, replaceable battery, camera flash, kickstand has come in rather handy, screen size, and so on.

The Evo IMO is the next step in smartphone hardware. If the next iPhone coming out next week/month doesn't show up with some BIG hardware upgrades (ram and CPU) it's not going to fare well with Apples wanna be multitasking.

The Evo is not perfect but for anyone that's like flexibility the iPhone isn't even in the same category, jail broken or not. What the hardware lacks and the joke of a network that ATT provides it really is a big step above in the overall package.

iPhone will still sell millions and remain very popular. It is a mainstream hit and it's user experience is great for those that don't "tinker" and either don't know, or don't care they can change home screens, have flash, swap batteries etc.. Those who enjoy technology and want the best hardware and as open of a software platform that's out there, the Evo offers it up on a silver platter.

I kinda like reading the iphone trolls talking about how perfect their phone is......It is so perfect that they come to an EVO message board because they are insecure about their BORING iPhone. Ive had one for a few years. It just got so boring. If one the top quotes from an iphone user is "it just works" then i'm not interested.

I will say that 3rd party developers have really pushed the iphone games above androids. I see that evening out some when android stops making weaker phones. Hero, MyTouch, cliq ect. Android needs more incredibles, EVO's, Nexus One type phones.

I dont have an EVO yet. I will probably buy one. I love the 4.3 inch screen.
So i cant comment on the Battery life. But i can say my iphones have had terrible battery life. They are nice in standby mode. But if you use them then its not so good. No better... in fact worse than my Hero.

I can't believe I am about to defend apple, I really can't.

1. jailbreak and you can multitask. You root to add features, we jailbreak
2. I agree
3. new iphone will have removable battery (well we think) but mainly I agree
4. my biggest complaint about my iphone
5. At&t's 3g service where I live is faster than Sprints 4g service.
6. We have had excellent coverage (can't compare, carries vary so much)
7. We will save 10.00 dollars with Sprint and our 2 evos. Not at all 50%. We got a large discount with at&t and not so big with Sprint. Add in the evo tax on 2 phones and we save 10.00 a month. We get 950 mins with At&t, unlimited text/data for 141.00mnth. We will get 1500 mins(we use less than 400 a month) with Sprint, unlimited data/text for 130.00 + tax. So as you can see, not at all 50% savings.

I get the point you hate the iphone, I HATE apple, but they make a great phone. But tomorrow, our Evo's arrive and I'm confided we will love them. But there are many things the iphone just does better, and many things android does better.

I dont hate the iphone at all. My cell phone bill is $73 a month and I have unlimited EVERYTHING with sprint. On ATT that would be $150+. I just think the iphone is vastly inferior to the evo or even the HTC hero to the point that its comical.

I only miss Angry Birds.... LOVE that game...

LOL!! I miss Angry Birds too!! I do love the iPhone but I HATE AT&T!! They might have a faster 3G network in my area but it isn't very big. And with Sprint, I will roam on USCC 3G network when I'm out of Sprint's coverage area!! I have tried out the Droid, Hero and Incredible. I have to say that I like the EVO best out of those 3 phones. The EVO is a pretty special device. But, if the new iPhone were to come to Sprint, I will camp out to get it!!

1. Multitasking will literally exist tomorrow.
2. Flash on Android is a negative thing for me. Slower webpages to load what are mostly ads.
3. I've never needed to switch batteries, but valid point.
4. I love iTunes, and Android not synching with it is a negative for me.
5. 4G for the win!
6. Service for the win!
7. Lower plan prices rock too!

The theme here for me is that AT&T is what's wrong with the iPhone. The phone itself is still a remarkable piece of tech. To blindly say otherwise is an idiotic statement.

You may prefer Android for any number of reasons - that's cool. I've had an iPhone for 3 years and just ordered an Evo. I am in love with my iPhone, but I couldn't put up with AT&T any longer.

To me, the Evo is about 85% as good as the iPhone, which was enough to make me switch services. Evo has some better features, iPhone has some better features

Vastly inferior? NOT a chance.... The iPhone is a very nice device.... To say otherwise is falling into fanboy'ism....

I don't miss my iPhone and I love the EVO but I am still not delirious enough to say the iPhone is vastly inferior...

I come from the iPhone too and this statement is correct. Both the new iPhone and EVO are at the top of their classes. They BOTH have pluses and minuses so YOU quite bitching. Just ignore the rants.

PS: iPhone multitasking isn't TRUE multitasking. It'll be good for about 70% of the multitasking use ie: IM client, navigation, location based client (loopt, four square) and a few otehr key API's but things like "Where's My Droid" app that rings your phone after a quick text from another or texts back GPS coordinates if you lost it, will not be possible on iPhone. THIS is the key reason I switched. So many possibilities that Google wants us to explore.

How bout we stop comparing all together. I happen to like Apple, as well as HTC, RIM, Samsung, etc! A lot of these rants are from new jacks that don't know any better. I have the EVO and love it, and to be fair, comparing it to the 3Gs is not fare because the 3Gs is about a year old. Within the next couple of weeks we'll have a more fare smack down between the EVO and the 4 generation iPhone . gotta love the tech world at this moment in time.....Awesome devices every where you turn!

I came from the iphone 3g. This phone is so much better than the iphone. I can actually browse the web without it being soooo slow. I also get good coverage. When I was actually cancelling my att account it kept cutting out and ended up dropping the call.

My att bill was 140-150 for 2 lines sharing 700 minutes, unlimited text on both and unlimited iphone internet on one. That was with my wifes discount.

My new sprint bill is 130 ish for 3 lines sharing 1500 minutes, unlimited data on all lines and unlimited text on all lines. Thats with my discount of 22%.

Epic win, and the coverage is great.
