Touch Screen Grid?

Has anyone noticed a series of vertical dull lines (slightly yellow) when looking at the screen on an all white background with the backlight high?

Is this normal for a capacitive touch screen ? I've tried searching multiple forums and had no luck finding an answer.

Edit - This is my first touchscreen device, so I'm really not sure about what is going on in there!

Bump, now with pictures. I used a solid background to see the vertical lines more clearly. Another EVO annoyance.

Pretty sure that is just the nature of capacitive screens. I can see the same pattern on my phone when the screen is off in the right light. Nothing to worry about. Similar experience with my Pre.

Thanks for the reply. I figured that was the issue, but I had posted before w/o pictures so I don't think people knew what on earth I was talking about.

Just wanted to add I definitely do NOT have this going on with mine. I even tested by leaving my EVO on for over 10 min on a pure white screen. No lines, dead pixels, or distorted colors. Maybe another production flaw like the infamous front glass glue issue??

IMO looks very similar to what happens to an LCD that has been water logged before (and not shorted out). Had a friend with an iPhone who would go running with it tucked into her sports bra (lucky iPhone :D). After a few months of condensation from sweat she had something very similar. Almost looked like a stain under the LCD, with noticeable light/color differences.

I circled and attached one of your pics below to show you.. I would definately go back for an exchange. Can't be normal. Down the road it could lead to bigger issues possibly?

or maybe I'M seeing things muhahhaha.. :p

To the people who are saying something is wrong with the phone, or "i never saw this on my other phone", and "you need to take it back." Just stop. There is nothing wrong with his phone. It is normal. Every phone has it, you just have to have the phone in just the right conditions to see it. My pre had a very noticeable diagonal grid. I could see lines on my buddies iPhone as well. It is part of the architecture of the capacitive screen.

If you can see it, don't worry about it, you are looking at your screen way too hard.

If you can't see it, don't worry, it is there I assure you but don't kill yourself trying to see it.
