Help HOt, Hot Battery

If you root it and install the android-wifi-tether app (the new one 2.14pre which actually works properly) - it will show you the temperature of the battery. There may be other apps which also do this but I'm not aware of any.

Oh, yeah - I'm going root a brand new phone just for that singular purpose.

Bypass the root suggestion and drive post haste to the nearest Sprint store for service!!

you don't have to root your evo to know the battery temperature, watchdog is a free app and you dont need to root the phone to get it. But till I haven't hear of a real solution to the battery getting hot, good somebody stop making comments and come up with a solution other than taking it back to Sprint, anybody can think of that.

Did you leave the phone in a car or sitting on the dashboard? If the phone starts to overheat you will get a series of LED lights blinking at you. Were you able to see the temperature of your battery before pulling the battery? The app Battery Indicator gives you the temperature of the battery.

Just my opinion, if your phone was too hot in order to touch then the phone could have been damaged internally due to the heat.
