Hmm...wonder how this phone will be?

I got the Incredible and took that beast back, knowing this was lurking in the shadows (pun intended). Only thing is Veri-trash is now charging $35 restocking fee for returns, so you really can't even try the phones out anymore.

But I suppose $35 is kind of worth it, to rent one for a month? ;)

Same boat as you, but I ended up selling mine, a friend said I could use their NE2 upgrade and with the back order going on, I don't regret $$! Though I was planning to return and do the $35 restock fee, which seems to be a reasonable rental price... I just hope the extreme is as fast or faster!

I almost forked over for the Inc, but decided to hold out until I saw the **We have Root** post. Since that still hasn't been seen, and also reading the same reports of little issues that mimic the Eris (I do like my Eris now that it's rooted, but still....) and the Shadow is now lurking......I'm saving my $$ as I doubt it will take 10 minutes to root that beast once its out.
Should be one close to perfect phone.

That would be sweet if we had root soon after the release! There was a post where someone talked about Moto locking the boot loaders from now on per the root of the Moto Droid... Hope that's not a huge road block if it's true. I guess that means not all boot loaders were locked??

I just clocked my Eris up to a stable 768, it's running pretty good, but I would love some more speed and the larger screen of the Extreme, the Incridible just wasn't big enough, but somehow very awkward to hold!

You can at Best Buy. No restocking fee and no limit (I think). Just return before 30 days is up.
Rent away!;)
