Contacts Favorites Missing in 2.1?

Not sure why they axed this feature...

If you sync contacts w/ exchange you can assign category "HTC Favorite" to the contact card via Outlook and it'll show up in the favorites folder on your phone. If you sync w/ google there may be a similar work-around - I just haven't verified that yet.

I can't find it either and it doesn't make sense that they removed it. Although, if you hard press a contact name in your recently called list, it will still give you an option to "Add to Favorites." Nice, but after that, you can't find the favorite list. So, something is a-miss here.

Also, why no Search feature on the People app? They removed that too. Or am I just not finding it?

It takes one more click to get to favorites...open People, then click Groups, then Favorites. For search, just hit the search button (magnifying glass).

Thanks, Jim. Sorry I posted my reply to the wrong phone forum. I have a Sprint Hero and the features are no longer there and I can't find the alternatives. I tried your suggestions above, but since the phones are different, I guess the apps are too, to some degree. The Search suggestion did work, but not the Favorites. Still can't find that sub-app. Thanks anyway.

I'm on a Hero too, running 2.1. Go into the People App and tap on the second icon on the bottom of the screen (it's a Groups Icon). It should list all of your groups, including Favorites, if you have any. Just tap on Favorites and there you are.

You can also, if you wish, put a Folder on the desktop that just contains your favorites. To do so, go to the Home screen on which you want the folder, long press in an empty spot, select Folder, then scroll down and select Starred. The resulting Folder, when tapped, will give quick access to all of your Favorites.
