Battery Percentage Indicator on StatusBar

I didn't see a thread in here discussing this, but I'm using a battery percentage indicator that shows the percentage in the status bar. I just want to get an idea of what everybody else is using.

The one I downloaded from the appmarket is cool for being free, but if anybody has recommendations, I'd love to hear them. I really want the one that HTC makes, but it's only available for the N1 and Desire right now.

Post up the different ones being used.

While this is definitely a cool widget, I needed something that would show the status on every page.

I just added a shortcut to the about phone page in settings. Works fine for me, but systray is really good too.

use VizBattery, you can see it here on my screen next to my favorites

if you click on it it gives you some battery info such as health, voltage, temperature and time since boot

But does it give you a battery percentage indicator at the top (on the status bar) on every page?

Where did you find the widgets for the led light silent and vibrate? I have been looking for those. They are not under my settings did you have to download those somewhere??

No clue...just experimenting right now, really, which is why I started this thread.

I liked Battery Status Pro, but for fear that it might drain the battery significantly, I changed to batteryminder, since it says that it has very little battery drain while in use.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been trying to figure out of it was just me for the longest time and nobody cared enough to respond! I thought it was because I was rooted, so I spent the better part of yesterday flashing back to stock only to have the stupid widgets STILL not download. If this had been posted yesterday, it would have saved me hours.

Disable things which are sucking up the battery and you won't need to care that much about this anymore. Besides you can see it from the settings menu and from the desk clock when plugged in.

Case in point, I've had my EVO sitting idle now for about an hour and it hasn't changed from 24% (I'm trying to get it down to like 1% and then will charge it back up fully). Read the battery life threads, there's a lot to be learned from those. I've had GREAT luck!

Believe me, I've read all those threads, but this is more of just a personal preference. I like seeing the actual percentage I have left all the time vs. having to click somewhere to see it. My phone lasted 16 hours straight with pretty heavy texting, some internet use, a few downloads from the app market, and a few phone calls. I had 19% left when I got home, which probably would've lasted me the night on idle.

I still haven't even looked into using ATK, which I may do as well. Regardless of the slight battery drain the app I currently have would cause, it's still somewhat worth it to me. And from what I could tell so far, the one I currently have doesn't suck that much life out of the battery at all.

This is what I use as well. Easy to read battery percentage and gives helpful information when pulling down the top bar.

Sure, it can be done, but it requires making changes to framework files. That can only be done if you root the phone and flash a custom ROM. That might be overkill just for battery percentage in the right corner instead of the left corner. It can definitely be done, though.

I'd imagine that, just like Windows Mobile phones before, once a person roots the phone, there's probably a way to edit the registry so that it moves that over to the right corner (although, I really don't know because I haven't rooted yet), instead of having to flash an entire ROM. Nontheless, I wouldn't be surprised if that info is already somewhere on XDA.

Android show various things in the notification bar. Stuff on the left are apps you have currently running, and will (normally) show up in the notification panel under "ongoing". You can't move them to the right side. The icons on the right are set, system icons. You can hack certain things with root, though, to modify how the system ones act. For example, you can modify the battery icon set to display the battery percentage. Doing so requires root, as it is modifying framework files. It has nothing to do with market apps. It's actually modifying the system.
