HD recording nice but nothing mind blowing

Video conferencing impressed buy only over wifi

didnt really follow all of it, but nothing else really popped out.

I just posted a message - I was able to vote in Fx logged in as me on the site, then opened the poll in Chrome, IE and Opera - and was able to submit more votes.

The retina display was pretty cool too, not that big of a deal though. Theyr'e just getting folders, flash on a camera. We've had folders for years on android, and now phones have dual LED flash.

I am surprised too, but if you think about it. It makes sense. Lifehacker is more of a customization/modding community ...which is non existent on the iPhone unless you jailbreak it, and even then it's much more limited than Android. I bet even on Gizmodo the results would be less skewed.

The website is blocked at my work, but I'm assuming the poll is leaning towards Android since it's in this forum.

I'm not surprised, you have to think about who is reading lifehacker, or gizmodo or any of those sites. The general population would probably still prefer the iPhone.

The problem that I see is that iPhone is 1 thing: the iPhone. Android is soon going to be dozens of different phones, different carriers, different versions. I like Android, but not my Droid. I'd vote for Android, but the iPhone is hardware and software both. Like everything Apple, it's not the same. It's like comparing Apple and PC; you could be referring to a DYI pc, an HP, a $3,000 Sony, Alienware, etc. It's not really a fair comparison.

The poll is talking strictly about the underlying software. If you want to be pedantic, you can imagine that the two options are "iPhone OS" and "Android"

I wasn't trying to be pedantic, just making what I think is a valid point. Apple integrates hardware and software, they're pretty much inseparable. However, Android can be run on anything, so its implementation is different depending on the device. Again, it's like Apple vs. PC, even though "PC" is dozens of different makers. Android is like Windows in that way, just put it on whatever you want, but iOS is specific to one phone. It just seems like apples, pardon the pun, and oranges to me.

Well I guess in the same way, when you do a Windows vs OS X debate, you assume that the underlying hardware for the Windows computer isn't a 15-year-old crappy Gateway computer; it's a fairly new computer, probably built by hand, that can take full advantage of the OS. Android would be in a similar situation; I would consider the Android on the most powerful hardware available. So basically, EVO vs. iPhone I guess.

You're right, it's not fair. It would never occur to the iSheep to use multiple browsers, not to mention using them to vote multiple times.

I think of Lifehacker not so much as a customization/modding community, but as a "get 'er done" community - where functionality trumps aesthetics. In that sense, the results would naturally be skewed in favor of Android.

I would be surprised about it on any site other than Lifehacker. It's a mod/tweak community. Of course they are going to be skewed towards Android.
