Help Did anyone notice evo stays awake when charging through USB?

I found this, if your USB is plug in go to the Menu button, tap the Notifications tab, look for USB debugging connected, tap on that, you'll see the second one that say Stay awake, uncheck that box. If you keep checked screen will never sleep while charging.

Start out with just the USB,(charging by Computer) do the above. And then see what happens when you use the AC plug. Just did it on mine and the screen goes black.

Hope this helps.

I'm not talking about the screen going black. It goes black using USB or AC adapter. I'm talking about checking the settings->battery->awake time...When you turn off the screen the awake time stops like it should when charging with AC, when you do that while charging through usb, the awake time keeps going...Thats what I mean by awake...

So have you found a fix for this? This is what i'm experiencing now, finally found a thread talking about it. USB debugging, Stay awake, allow mock locations all have been unchecked. Still doesn't sleep.

I have no idea where you found USB debugging from menu, notifications tab. All that brings up is the choices such as charge only, disk mount, etc. No Debugging info. Although I found the debugging in settings, but my Evo still will not sleep with USB charging. 2.1 never did this for me, 2.2 does it now.

I'm not talking about the screen shutting off. I'm talking about the awake time of the phone when you go to setttings->about phone->Battery. The only way to let it sleep and charge is to use the AC adapter and not usb charging.

Just out of curiosity, are you running the unofficial update, or the official OTA?

I have the unofficial and am noticing the same thing.

Anybody here when charging your phone through USB port/PC get a 100% awake time?
The screen is shutting off on it's own for me (the option to stay awake while it's charging is UNchecked).
It took like 6 hours to charge from 15% to like 90% last night (not even full charge) but i had to leave so i took it off the usb cord.
Charging with the phone off via the USB/PC, charging with the phone on via AC, and charging with the phone off via AC are all working fine. no awake issues or slow charge rates.
Any ideas?
Is this normal?

Could be your computer. A lot of computers dont output enough power through usb, especially laptops. And dont plug it into a hub either.
