So i've waitied 4 days for this beast to get to me. I was extremely happy I got it for a good price from wirefly with bing cashback. However, shortly after that a few things killed my thunder :/

1-4: bitching, whining, moaning, complaining about irrelevant non-EVO issues.

5. Typing is a bitch! The TP2 had a lot of leeway in terms of finger accuracy whereas every other word typed on the EVO is a misspelled

I still have the Sprint first steps instruction taped to the EVO as a temp screen protector, maybe that's why my typing has been so bad? I've also noticed my nail doesn't register a touch screen response whereas the Touch Pro 2 does let me use my finger nail to click on those small linkable icons. I feel like i'm playing finger tennis again, trying to find that sweet spot of my finger to push the button lol.

oh god, your first 4 complaints arn't even about the phone, infact they are almost completely unrelated number 5 your comparing the best hard KB out there to a soft KB

pls STOP with the "i wanna complain" threads

I agree. Your complaints are with accessory manufacturers? I mean WTF?

My evo didn't come with a complimentary keg - man am I pissed

Quite a few of those reasons have nothing to do with the EVO itself.

The EVO uses a capacitive touch screen which uses heat to register touch as opposed to the resistive screen on your TP2. Nails won't work. The keyboard is pretty big so it's pretty hard for me to make mistakes personally.

you're right, well i'm tying those into the phone lol. i guess the main complaint is the keyboard. i was referrign to the software keyboard for the TP2 btw. I spent the last 2 weeks using only the onscreen keyboard to prepare for the evo.

I honestly think it's the red green'ed screen protector you are using. This is the most accurate touch screen I've ever used.

i was gonna tell you to cut your nails, lol but then I remember that lady that sold me my Sprint Hero last year at Best Buy and she had the longest nails I've seen on a woman. And yet she was able to use the touch screen on the Hero (which is tiny compared to the EVO) with out any problem.

maybe you need to run the keyboard calibration program.

my first phone wiht sprint was the instinct. my first touch screen. hated it. went and got a blackberry to replace it cause of the keyboard. loved it. turned to a crackberry fanatic. thought i would stay with it but rim isn't coming out with anything all that spectacualr. decided to try the evo with my upgrade and i don't regret it. still getting used to the on screen keyboard but i don't think its even bad. seems like i type more accurate on it then my tour. does everything my blackberry does for me.

Use it for a couple of weeks . You will never go back to windows OS. It needs some learning curve. I also was missing my WM phone after switched to Android last year.

I also do not like the virtual keyboard but I don't really like any virtual keyboard. That said, it is tolerable and until they come out with something like this with a good hard keyboard it is an acceptable compromise. I hear some have better luck with Swype but then I saw someone get in trouble for posting a link to it so I have no idea what's up with that. I haven't tried it myself.

Some of you guys need to go back to flip phones. I think the hype beast bit alot of you guys in the ass. All this buyers remorse is pathetic. If you can't appreciate this phone i feel sorry for you. Don't blame the phone if you can't spell right blame your parents.I'm so sick of these cry baby threads about nothing being made example: My Evo won't change my diapers I'm taking it back to Sprint.

Rant over

It is definitely harder to hit the small spots and is less accurate because it is not a resistive touch screen like WM phones. I love this phone and would never think about going back to my TP2, but for accuracy on the screen, resistive screen's can't be beat.

On my windows phone I would use the tip of my fingers and never had a problem of hitting the right spot. What I am realizing I need to do with the EVO is use my whole finger and basically cover the spot I want to hit....Will definitely take some practice but I am hoping I get used to it and can just nail all of my hits.....

Recalibrate your keyboard to fit your typing style. That should help you with your typing errors.

Basically it displays a sentence on the screen and you type it. Then it adjust to where your fingers hit on the screen for the corresponding letter. It's in your settings.

Menu--Settings--Language and keyboard--Touch Input--Text Input--Calibration Tool. The type the saying and it should be better for you.

i'm trying to get used to it, the screen is so sensitive as well. because of the phone's size, i'm making inadvertant touches on areas of the screen unintended. it's all getting used to.

seriously, a lot of you are pretty rude. i'm merely stating that the keyboard is hard to type on but you all come in here calling me a troll, stupid, and annoying over something so small. you're making mountains out of molehills.

thanks for everyone that did help though. to everyone else, what did you expect from the title?

People lets be nice.

TS

C'mon TS...there's a time to be nice when people need legitimate help...but there is also a time when people need to know their being donkeys. It's how our society works, and this guys needs to know he's being a doof.

The keyboard is damn near the easiest thing in the world to use - especially in landscape mode. Further, if maybe he took of the screen protector that isn't even designed to be left on the phone he wouldn't have so many issues.

*they're

but yes, the factory screen protector is annoying but it's still registering my touches very sensitively.

either way, please lock this thread. apparently i'm attracting a lot of people who find it best to to what i did, bitch about something.
