Root Help finding an OC kernal for FRF57?

Hey guys. I have the FRF57 Froyo ROM installed, and with it comes a 600 OC. I'd like to push it up to 1GHz, but I'm unfamiliar with OCing the Droid. Could you guys post a link to the kernal, please? I can't find one. I'm using the Clockwork flash. Also, to install the kernal, is it the same as installing the ROM? (unzip it into clockwork backup folder, boot in recovery, and restore it?) It's not the same as installing a nandroid backup, it's actually simpler. Just download the .zip for the kernel onto your SD card, then in recovery select "install zip from SD card", find the zip and select it. Reboot phone, all done.

You'll need the SetCPU app (if you don't already have it) to adjust the clock speed though. If you get into a boot loop or get stuck at the Moto M logo you might have to choose a slower kernel.

Thanks nstallion. I assume (from the directions) that I simply unzip it into the SDcard, name it "Update.zip," and installing using ROM Manager? Also, is there anything I should know so I don't ruin my CPU or anything? I'm thinkin ill just bump it up to 900. Thanks

Edit: oops, you must have edited your post before I replied. Do i have to name the kernal anything special? or will any name do?

I suppose you could use ROM Manager, yeah. I never thought of doing it that way, I always boot into recovery mode and do it that way. You don't want to unzip it though and it's not necessary to rename it. Just as long as you know where you put it on the SD card.

I have a folder on my SD card called "ROMS" where I put all my stuff and inside that a folder named "Kernels". The name of the zip doesn't matter, just as long as you know what it is. I personally don't like renaming everything update.zip because then I'm never sure what that update.zip is any more. It's just a holdover from when you had to name it update.zip for recovery to install it.

Ok great. thanks. What is the "safe" CPU temp so I know I'm not going overboard?

The absolute limit for the CPU is 90C, but it shouldn't stay above 60C for extended periods of time. You will be hard pressed to get the phone that hot, although running flash for extended periods seems to get pretty warm. Unfortunately it looks like the 2.2 ROMs don't support reading the CPU temperature sensor, only the battery temp sensor, so with 2.2 I don't really know how hot my CPU is getting.
