Help Using a new microSD card

Just wondering, I ordered a new microSD card that should be here today or tomorrow. When I install it, are there files Android saved on my old microSD card I need to copy to my computer and transfer to the new card? It seems like most files are saved to the SD card rather than the internal memory for my apps and don't want to cause any issues when I put the new one in.

It probably depends on what apps you're using, but I noticed a lot of the apps I installed created folders on my SD card. I'm guessing those files are needed for the app to function somehow. I went from a 2gb to 8gb card and just copied everything from the 2 to the 8.

Agreed. You probably have several folders and files on the sdcard related to your installed apps. Best idea is just to copy everything to the new card.

If you don't the apps will create new folders/directories as they need them but you might be losing valuable pictures, backgrounds, ringtones etc.

Interesting. You'd think with 8GB of internal memory, the phone would store these folders there. This really takes away from the "hot-swappable" feature.
