How to download songs?

I didn't make a folder, just dragged and dropped music directly to the card. If there is a stock editing program, I haven't found it. I've been using ringdroid and find it super easy.
There is one. So there's no need for another app to eat up space on your phone.

When you go to you music (a specific song) on your phone hit Menu--Set as Ringtone--Trim Ringtone

From there you can use whatever part of the song you like and set the length. Then you select default ringer or contact ringer.

OK So I am dumb. How do you do this. I have the music on my computer, then plug in my phone to the computer...and then what do I do?
When you connect the phone choose youre connection type. In this case choose "Disk Drive".

Then click your start menu on the comp. Click in "Computer". Then click removable disk (E in my case.) Then find music. Once you do that go to where your songs are stored and click on the song once and drag it down to the compter tab on your screen and then drop it on the folder by letting go.

This is assuming you're using a Windows comp.

1.When you plug the phone into the computer a menu will pop up on the phone. Select Disk Drive and hit Done.
2. A box will pop up on the computer as well. Hit open folder to view files.
3. Open your music folder on your computer and select the songs you want on your phone.
4.Hold down the left mouse button and drag the songs to the removable disk folder (That's your SD card in your EVO)
5. You can either create a folder for them in the SD card or just drop them in there. Either way they will show up on the phone.
6. Go to the safely remove hardware option (typically on the bottom right of the computer screen) and hit Eject Android Device.
7. Now unplug the phone from the computer and voila.

Hope this helps!

Obviously I have turned something off to send me the notifications. I use taskiller to kill a bunch of things. In my settings, it is supposed to ask me when I plug in what I want to do (the default is set to charge), but it does not ask me if I want to mount it. It works fine on my wife's hereo, but I get no notification on my EVO.

turn off the task killer. then go to menu-settings-connect to pc, and delect the default, and check to box for Ask Me.
