Help Will the DInc be able to shoot vids in 720p?

Come on guys get over it. The Rooted Nexus One shoots 16-20fps. I spent 30 minutes reading that whole thread over a XDA. The Evo shoots 20fps. Crap 720p is crap 720p

I rather use what we have and have them fix the metering on our cameras.

Agreed. People often get fixated on the wrong numbers. I don't blame them though, its what the general populace uses to say my X is better than your X. However, the OPTION to record at 720p doesn't hurt at all :D

It seems like every time we have news about the possibilities for something new people flame it right away. Why not make our DInc the ultimate device? why not have 720p? why not hope to get 2.2 sooner than later?
I've said it before and i'll say it again, The haters will be the first ones posting here about how cool their new features are.

I'm all up for new features and options. Perhaps some might be disgruntled because there have been quite a bit of postings with people showing their dissatisfaction with the lack of 720p without realizing that most 720p recording on phones aren't that great right now. I do find the link you provided to be helpful though and definitely not worthy to get flamed. I just love having more options for the phone.

I'll be all over that. When the day comes that the INC or any HTC phone can record H.264 720/30fps and playback the same file, I'll be the first to update my phone. But for now, it is all just an exercise.

I also want to add that H.264 is a license codec. This may explain why the INC/EVO records 3gp. They skimped on it mainly for profit reasons- they didn't want to pay the royalties. The hardware supports it.

I just wish they would stop referring to the things we do on android phones as a Hack. These are exploits and modifications to the operating system. None of these things developers are doing would violate the warranty of our phones. That is the beauty of android.

If I could mod my phone to run 1080p even if it looked like poo I might do it just because I could. :D

H.264 is royalty free at the moment. No one pays for it. The future? It will probably cost money.
