Root stock android theme??

OK so a buddy of mine rooted my droid for me and tossed some themes on as well, but I'm kinda missing the stock android theme....just looking how to get that back, I'm running BB 1.1 thanks guys

Might wanna call him back up...you're most likely going to need to reinstall the ROM if you didn't make a backup pre-theme...Did he "show" you how to do anything or just take your phone...and hand it back rooted, rommed, and themed and say "here ya go" (recipe for trouble IMO)?

Buump....

Sorry, I must have missed your first response...

Okay so you know how to change themes and such...

OMJ was working on something yesterday and stumbled onto a previous solution...

ok well this was a completely failed experiment. To use an update.zip I would have had to include the complete apks which takes out any theme done to the rest of the app and not just the icon. I was starting to use metamorph and was about half way done when I noticed that in the thread on df for Dark Edge there is a stock icons pack for metamorph. It exactly what I was working on so I gave up. But its there if you need it.

Here is the link.

You should be able to install these icons but as far as Frame work...I'm not sure where to get that off the top of my head...I always run away from stock...not to it :D

you would just need to pull the framework from the stock update.zip version of BB then push it in recovery. That process is going to be too much for someone who didnt root their phone themself.

Be better off just flashing the stock version of BB and starting fresh

Unless you or your friend did a nandroid backup prior to putting the theme on there (if the theme you're running wasn't included with the original ROM...you know how ROM Manager premium gives you all those cool options :p).

Or, you could just load BB again without wiping data. I do not recommended to do it this way...but it would work.

im currently running the nex theme for BB

And you want to change it up to stock? Do you have ROM Manager Premium? If not...get it...the few bucks is WELL worth it.

Then you could just download and flash Bugless Beast with a stock theme over top of what you have (when you go to download BB, you will get all those options to choose from). Should be pretty easy. I think you'll be okay to load it over your existing installation without wiping data...but wiping data is always the recommended way to go.

If not using ROM Manager:

You could also load the same ROM through whatever recovery you are using. If using Clockwork Recovery, you just place the .zip file on the memory card (anywhere you can find it...the root of the SD card is probably the easiest) and boot into recovery. Choose "Install ROM from SD Card" and then find the file...done. If you want to wipe data, that is just an extra step and you will see it when you boot into Clockwork.

If using SPRecovery, you can just rename the same .zip file to update.zip and then you click on Install > Allow update.zip installation (nothing appears to happen...but something does :D) > install update.zip (depreciated). Again, wiping data is just one more step.

Does that help?

Take UBRocked's advice and install ROM manager from the market. This is the easiest way to create backups and install new ROMs, especially since it sounds as though you're not a seasoned vet at this. Also you with ROM manager you can flash Clockwork recovery and that way you know what recovery you're running. I highly recommend purchasing the premium as it is well worth the features you will gain and make your life that much easier.
