So long original droid...

My top power button is completely stuck, out of no where, no drops or anything, just seems like it is stuck in its housing. I tried everything, banging on table, xacto blade and prying up but nothing. Just doesn't budge. Replacement will be here in a couple days. Its a sad day. :(

That sucks! I'm sorry to hear that you are having this issue. One quick question, do you have a case on your droid?

At least you have a replacement coming.

Nope never used a case on this beast. Yeah mine still works too, but its really annoying, the button dont move at all, so its hit or miss.

On a better note, ill have a completely fresh phone to root!

Same here, and yeah it is very annoying. I figure if I can deal with it until the Droid2 comes out though I may be able to get it replaced with that. That's what LG used to do at least.

I think you are ready...for the Droid EXTREME!...I mean really, how cheesy can Verizon get.

I have the same problem. But mine if you press hard enough it unlocks the phone. But I mean you have to press HARD and in the right exact spot.

Anyways, how long is the warranty? I got mine in November of 2009.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the warranty for parts and labor is one year. Insurance is for as long as you pay for it and has an $80 deductible.

So if I wanted, I could call motorola, tell them my problem and they would send me a new one? And like someone said earlier in the thread, if I call in the future and the Droid2 is out, will they just upgrade me?

Thanks

Again, correct me if I'm wrong as I've never had to do this before (knock on wood), but I believe you just call the verizon 800 number and tell them what is wrong. I believe that they will then issue you a replacement. If that is not the correct people to call, then they should tell you that you actually need to call motorola instead.

It is not 100% accurate that your replacement would be the droid 2 when it comes out. It depends on the stock on hand. If they do not have any more of the droids then they will replace with something similar or better.
