Anyone else sort of over the Red?

Originally I kind of dug the red accents on the phone. But the more I've played around with it (different themes, etc.), I've kind of gotten over the red ear piece and camera lens cover. I've been kicking around the idea of dying/changing the color of the ear piece black for starters. Not sure what I would do with the lens cover, maybe just wet sand and polish although I understand it fairly delicate and thin.

My HTC letters have already been removed since the H removed itself, so I decided to finish the job. So maybe I am just looking for a more stealthy look.

Anyone else or am I just insane?

a quick way to make the ear grille black would be a Sharpie, i havent done it yet but i am fairly certain it will work not sure about the lens cover since there is a lot more red

try the black sharpie and take pics

Being ever so slightly different is appealing to me, relative to other phones. In addition, I've had red & black guitars, drums, truck, hats, band logo, and even bed sheets. It worked out very well for me.

Lesson: Being a designer has to be the worst job- knowing no matter what you do, there will be a forum somewhere full of people willing to complain about the most ridiculous and insignificant things about your design.

I don't think he was really "complaining"! He's just tossing around the idea of changing up the red accents on his phone because he doesn't care for them. So what! Why get so defensive?

I personally don't mind the red accents. Adds just a little bit of "flare" without looking too gaudy.

Haha, lots of fanboyism in this thread it seems. Either that or many of you just need to lighten up. Like KSISS Said (thanks BTW), I'm not complaining.

I love the phone. Just think I'd be happier with a stealthier look and wondered if anyone else felt the same. I did like the red at first, but it's kind of gotten old for me. That's it. Nothing more to read into it. Sheesh.

Don't think I'll be posting pics though. It would most likely anger the fanboy natives too much and they wouldn't be able to handle having their panties in such a tight bunch.

You could always try dying it using a scrapbooking product called alcohol ink (by Tim Holtz) and it works on any non-porous surface. You'd need to apply it with a q-tip I think so that it didn't drip all over everything but if you are really set on changing the color............
