My wife just shattered her Evo screen getting out of the car. She forgot she had it setting in her lap, and of course we haven't bought any body armor or screen protector yet:( I was just wondering what the best method to handle this situation. We have the 7.00 dollar a month insurance through sprint, do i just take it in the store and they will fix it? Will it cost me more money? Will they replace it rather than fix it? Am i better off saying that it fell in the ocean and keep my battery and charger and just getting another one at the insurance replacement cost?? What is the insurance replacement cost on the Evo, seems like it was 75 on the hero. Anyways plz help, oh and i would post a picture but it would make you sick so ill spare you. :(

It will be $100 replacement fee. You could always say you lost it and keep the phone and everything with it instead of bringing it in.

+1. i was talking for a sprint rep for a bit and he told me to always claim my phone as lost because then you dont have to send the old one in so you get a phone quicker and you can keep the old one.

Except for the fact that this is INSURANCE FRAUD!!!

OP - Contact Sprint and advise them of your situation, they'll be able to direct you the best.

How is that? they are paying for the coverage and it was broken, how is that fraud? They cover broken phones.

I beg to differ, all they're going to do with the phone is trash it anyway. In this case it will cost Sprint less to replace it if he just say's he lost it.

Insurance fraud is any act committed with the intent to fraudulently obtain payment from an insurer.

That is, LYING about the situation of the phone to get a replacement.

It is still a lie and still illegal. Sorry if it bothers you but some of us still have ethics and expect the same from our fellow citizens.

These two are right on the money!

We are a strong supporter of the legal system and we will not tolerate this kind of discussion or activity here.

Thanks for your cooperation!
