Anyone have a friend with an Incredible?

I was wondering if the Incredible suffers from the same lag issues the Eris does? Does anyone have a friend or family member with the incredible? I can't take the buggy lagging phone dialer.
Dan

2 friends with one. No lag from what they tell me. Thing is damn snappy. But I still love my Eris. So I wont be upgrading.

Dont know if you looked into rooting or not but that fixed tons of issues. And made it faster. But if you're on leak, nvm.

I had one for a day. It was definitely faster, and had zero dialer lag even after I downloaded a ton of apps. I couldn't slow it down when I tried. Unfortunately, mine had a charging issue so I'm back to waiting for them to ship me another one. In the mean time, I still have my eris which I also love. (even though the two can't really be compared.)

Nearly twice the processor speed = nearly twice the performance, methinks. ;)

The Incredible is way more than twice the performance of the Eris. The CPU may technically be only twice as fast, but its a completely different architecture.

The Incredible has NONE of the lag that the Eris has, including the dialer.

Actually the processor is 4 times as fast.

Eris is an old ARM11 CPU with one instruction pipeline.

Incredible cpu (snapdragon) has two instruction pipelines and can do out of order execution. Along with almost double the clock speed = 4 times the performance.

It really does feel 4 times as fast.

Let's put it this way. If Verizon wanted to keep every Eris user forever a customer, and I mean for-****ing-ever, they would send them a DI. Free, no questions asked. And to answer your question, there is no lag. No matter how hard you try.

I currently have 2 Erises on my account and one DI. (My wife has an LG flip and *loves* it.)

I have the Incredible and 2 Eris's on my account and the difference is night and day, just like bjanow said, it is almost impossible to slow down the Incredible. Here is a comparison you can do, on an Eris go to the Mabillo Wallpaper app and surf through the wallpapers, even on WiFi notice how long it takes to load them, now on the Incredible I do the same thing and you can flip through the wallpapers instantly and they are loaded...

The Eris has some lag, but I lived with an original RAZR for about 2 years before I got my Eris. That was a dumbphone that literally struggled to keep up with how fast you opened and closed it. The dialer lag was worse than the Eris, so I have no idea what people complain about when they say "dialer lag". It seems fast to me.

BTW, the original RAZR V3 is NOT on Verizon. Verizon RAZR's are pimped out compared to the original.

I rooted my Eris and it's overclocked to 729 Mhz (can go up to 787 Mhz and still be stable). ADW is my launcher and Sense has been removed. This thing is pretty darn fast and I'm gonna be quite happy with my baby for a long time. Plus, I can actually put my Eris in my pocket! :p
If I could pry the Eris out of my kids' hands I would root in an instant. I actually looked around at root yesterday and I think I have all the files needed. (It's really quite confusing) I just wish there was a boot file like those leaked zips that would do it automatically. Then there's the ROM thing which throws me too. I know, there's a root section, was there all day. Still...

I have always kept my phone in my pocket ever since the flip phones years ago. If I couldn't I wouldn't have it. *And I always go naked* ;)

There's a simple-ish All-in-One script that you can download to get you started with root. It may seem intimidating at first, but I'm sure you'll pick it up quickly. I know I spent like two days straight reading stuff in the Root subsection and over at XDA.

The all-in-one script is near the beginning of the first page here: http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-eris/53963-guide-stock-1-5-latest-root-2-1-a.html

Plus, the guys over there are really helpful. Us rooters have to stick together! :)
