Help i5500 with 2.1

Samsung I5500 will be out
this model only 100M ram and 600Mhz CPU
but It use Android 2.1!!!

what the **** Samsung? rather 2.1 on i5500 with 100M ram Than update our Galaxy ****!

I never buy any Samsung Phone in future !!!

While I won't commit to that, (galaxy S looks amazing) I will concede that its almost nonsensical to avoid your first flagship android phone for update, giving no apparent reason, as hardware cant be a limitation as we can see, by the tmobile version of the galaxy, and this one, with lesser specs.

Where did you seen 100MB RAM, I reead somewhere 256

Seems he misread

The full specs sheet is quite impressive given the small size - 2.8-inch QVGA capacitive touchscreen, a 600MHz processor, accelerometer sensor, 2 megapixel snapper and 100 MB user storage expandable via microSD card slot. Connectivity department offers 3G with HSDPA, Wi-Fi with DLNA, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth, microUSB port and 3.5mm audio jack.
Samsung i5500 runs on Android v2.1 Eclair, which is just great. Despite the ROM and RAM are still a mystery, we suppose both are at least 256MB each.

Source

But the fact that the Tmobile version of galaxy with 192mb of ram and same processor is recieving 2.2 froyo, pretty much explicitly proves that the i7500 is capable of upgrading, the i7500L in my case.

if you mean bh2, it's bullsh*t, it will get 1.6 too. and it has 256MB RAM

Already posted and discussed in this forum :/

Mytouch vs Galaxy Specs

@128mb of ram.... not sure if that is a typo on GSM arena part or a bad assumption on my part, but my phone which is a i7500L has 192mb of ram listed.
i7500L

EDIT: Clarified: Thread on GSMarena typo

WTF, mytouch 3g isn't tmobile's samsung galaxy - tmo's galaxy is called behold 2 while mytouch 3g is tmo's htc magic. Also, see my post in this topic.

no need to get touchy, i wasn't literally comparing manufacturers i was comparing specs, which are nearly identical.
And the original mytouch 3g is a 32B variant. The newer limited edition Fender version and the touch slide are 288mb of ram yes, the 32A like the magic here on rogers. But it doesn't say on Tmobiles site that only the new version is upgraded? It says mytouch 3g, not mytouch 3g fender edition, as far as i can read.

The only models that use the 32B platform are the original T-Mobile myTouch 3G (v1.2 of this phone, released in Feb 2010, switched to the 32A), the Vodafone Magic and the Google Ion developer phone.

Basically I havent read Tmobile saying to their customers if you bought your mytouch before feb 2010, your out of luck. To me their statement says, mytouch 3g...meaning all mytouch 3g, not just 1.2

lol, then sorry for failing hard, I've always thought it was 32a. Still it makes the thing I've heard interesting - I've heard they're going to put Sense (with mytouch slide's theme) on it and it's impossible to make Sense for such amount of ram... I'm betting 32a's going to get Sense while 32b's without it (or without 2.2 at all?)

No worries, android fragmentation and the way carriers have been dealing with it, isn't the easiest thing to decipher because its half marketing mixed with half truths... ^^
Yeah, maybe thats what they ll do, have vanilla for B's and SEnse for A's... but who knows. And there s no excuse for them not upp'ing the BH2 either.. so we ll see i guess. I think maybe 2.1 wouldnt have worked , but with the new compiler in 2.2 they managed to make it work.
In samsungs case for us i7500's i think the market penetration wasn't enough to warrant them to spend the resources on making a 2.2...or rather they don;t care if they piss us off in the grand scheme of themes, hoping on galaxy S hype ...and increasing turnover.. because lets be fair, they only make money when they sell a phone, not support it.

indeed, but they must know that lack of support equals customer dissatisfaction which in turn equals less future customers, they can't be that stupid (or are they?)

Hmmm... I think they assume that their future hardware is so desirable that it will somehow, magically, make up for the customer dissatisfaction.

Though I can assure you that my next phone is going to be a HTC (only if they'd treat me the same as Samsung is doing, I don't have a clue where to turn to otherwise :) )

To Google Nexus One or their next model
