Ok, wanted to share my story and wanted to hear other's stories about Verizon. Maybe help people get it off their chests. Here's my story:

1. 5/27 - ordered Incredible online. coaxed Verizon into an early upgrade
2. Was told Dinc was backordered, would ship 6/23
3. Get an email 2 days later that it would arrive on 6/1
4. Get my Dinc as promised on 6/1
5. Was told by Verizon store geniuses that I could use my Blackberry wall charger on my phone.
6. Phone battery starts dying after about 3 hrs of use.
7. Take phone back to geniuses at Verizon store and get new battery. The same day, Dinc dies. Won't charge, won't turn one...nada. R.I.P.
8. Call Verizon. Promised a new phone to be overnighted and will arrive on 6/7 or 6/8.
9. Call Verizon after no phone in mail to get a tracking number. No tracking number. Call again and finally told it would be shipped on 6/21.
10. Call again and a supervisor is scouring the country for a Dinc. Offered a free month off my bill.
11. Took dead phone into Verizon store today to see if they could get it to turn on so i could erase my personal data.
12. Manager gets it to come on and says, "it's fine its just 'power cycling'" . I'm like "just wait and see". After about 5 minutes the phone goes off, won't turn, on and when it does, it goes off as soon as you try to do anything.
13. Manager agrees phone is fried and apologizes up and down that his staff told me I could use my Blackberry charger on it. Goes around and tells his staff not to recommend using Blackberry chargers on the Dinc (i witnessed it). Tested my Blackberry charger and it checked out ok. They concluded it was my BB charger. Something about the prongs, despite the same voltage (for all the "wannabe experts" in this forum).

SO, Verizon has my 200 clams and I'm back to the Storm 1, which should have been name the Blackberry Sprinkle. I had an Incredible in my hands and never had a chance to really use it cause i never got any more than 5 hours battery life after my BB charger fried it.

Going to call Verizon tomorrow and hit them up for more compensation. Still contemplating switching to iPhone, but AT&T plan is about $30 more than Verizon plan for less minutes. iPhone users must be doctors and lawyers.

Anyway, share your Dinc or Verizon horror stories.

I consider that lucky, I ordered 5/28 and still have yet to receive my phone. How you got it from Verizon within 3-4 days after ordering on 5/27 is beyond me, as is why you would use a BB charger for the phone when it ships with a charger...on top of that you got a month worth of service for free...wow those people at verizon are real a-holes (SARCASM)

I'm going to go out on a limb and say your "charger issue" is an extraneous situation. I charge mine with my old BlackBerry Tour charger every night and it works just fine. I think they were most likely using that as a cover for "we don't know why your phone is f*cked, so we'll blame the charger."

+1 if that were the case you would also need a specific usb cable for the comp and everything else, its bs

I write none of this to be a dick, but I had the exact OPPOSITE experience with Verizon.

I purchased a Droid Eris in Dec with my 2 year upgrade. I hated the feel of the Moto Droid, and was willing to settle for the weaker phone because of form factor.

What a mistake that was. The Eris was a slow, buggy, unresponsive P.O.S from about a month after I got it until the day I shipped it back. Anyone familar with Eris, I was dealing with the "Silent Phone" bug, and it drove me to the brink of throwing my phone out of my car window. I was restarting 4 or 5 times a day. Everytime I needed to make that one important call.

Verizon sent me a replacement Eris, less silent phone issue (but still present) and still, all the bugs (this was before the 2.1 OTA that seems to have screwed all Eris owners).

I called on a saturday morning in early May (don't remember exact dates) and spent an hour and a half on the phone with VZW C.S. I had a list of complaints and was patient but firm, that the only thing I would settle for was a new upgrade date and an opportunity to purchase a new phone at upgrade price.

First lady, very helpful, second guy, very helpful. His boss, the guy with the power to do something about it, was not buying what I was selling. I stuck to my guns. He claimed it was an HTC problem. I responded that VZW's name was splashed across the face of my phone, not HTC, so every time the phone does not do what it is supposed to do, it is Verizon that looks bad.

Long story short, after a few tense minutes, he agreed to move my upgrade date up ("This is the last time"), I purchased the phone online, recieved order confimation later that day (saturday) a "ship by" notice of May 14th, and recieved the phone the following thursday (I want to say it was May 10th).

What Verizon has is a very, very happy customer, who is shelling out over $100 dollars a month for a phone he cannot put down.

So sorry to hear your story, but it has been nothing like my experience. Now if only I can get my iPhone using girlfriend to drop AT&T (I seriously think it is more about the IDEA of owning an iPhone, than actually owning one) and come to the Incredible.

I'm a "wannabe expert" as you put it, and think that it's complete BS to blaim it on the "prongs"? USB ports are standardized; they're all the same. They have to be in order to be called a "Universal Serial Bus" (USB) otherwise they're a proprietary port (like Samsung uses, for example).

Verizon was just using it to cover their backsides, plain and simple. My horror story is posts like this spreading false information and then bringing down knowledgeable people that know what they're talking about.. Have a nice life :)

Lets see after my camera kept locking up my phone, there was dust under my screen and my speaker busted, Verizon sent me a new phone. Yeah they sent a new one all right, an Eris that is. Called back and they said yeah we see that it was supose to be an Incredible. So I had to wait again threw another backorder shipment. Have new one now and seems to be doing great.

i think the whole backorder ordeal is a marketing ploy. they spit these things out faster than rice cakes in China. No reason for a backorder.

Actually Samsung makes the AMOLED screens for it, and they cant keep up with the demand. Its still a new technology. So its not HTCs fault that they are on backorder.

Sorry haha i thought this was in the "when did you order and receive your incredible" thread. probably time to get some sleep.
I pre-ordered mine too and got it a day before the release. My horror story is that I couldn't get to the Verizon store to show my sales guy friend who I promised because I was playing with it all day long and the time flew by. Another horror story is that I have to fight with my wife who likes to charge her phone with the LG micro charger and I want to also. Cause I don't like to run upstairs where my BB charger is, or downstairs where my DI charger is. So I then have to use my USB charger on the computer but it doesn't charge as fast as my BB one. Another horror story is that I can't get another DI for my kids until the upgrade date.

On the plus side, I don't drop calls. Oh crap, one more horror story. I can't sing like Taylor Swift cause I don't have an iPhone.

So was using the BlackBerry charger your problem? Or was it just a fluke?

My problems started on day 2 after using the BB wall charger. Was doing fine before that. It was all down hill from that point.

Also, there are people here who have reported that their Inc is unresponsive when plugged in w/ BB wall charger.
My friends gf started having issue immediately after using her BB wall charger.

So, its my conclusion that it was the charger. Lesson learned. I've been personally attacked for this conclusion, but I feel I have the proof to back it up and I know what transpired.

My only hope was to save someone else the trouble i went through. It was kind of frustrating to have this incredible phone and not really be able to use it and then it dies.

I used the BB charger because Verizon told me it was ok and I'm tired of buying extra chargers and car chargers. That worked out pretty good for me.

The Blackberry chargers are getting boxed up with the Storm 1 when my new Inc. arrives, or I switch to iPhone, whichever.
