Lekky. Which clock are u using?

digital clock widget

lekky - on your last screenshot you have world cup fixtures. where you getting them from? app or web?

BigBob - Not sure how Lekky has done it but I have the same sort of thing, the calendar app synced with my google calender with all the fixtures input.

Got the fixtures from here

Yep

Lekky; liking your new screens, especially the lack of text, just buttons. Simple = Better!

There's some real inspiration here in just the last few days. M-U-S-T----R-E-S-I-S-T changing mine again so sooooon.

Hehe, took advntage of the 5 rows of icons feature of launcherpro too, i think it makes it look even better, especially with less icons about.

Ceefax - I'm having the same dilemma; finding replacement for the HTC widgets... especially the full calendar display.
What is the one you're using?

you mean the agenda view or the other one?

Hi Lekky

How are you removing the Txt from under ur icons ??
I'm really happy with my theme just need to lose the txt now

Cheers bud

You need to use an alternative Launcher such as ADW or Launcher Pro, or maybe you can do this with BetterCut also (by creating a shortcut and deleting the name), but I have never tried this option.

Looks like Lekky is using ADW there. (edit - no he is using Launcher Pro) as am I now. 5 rows of icons is a really nice tool.

I just tried to download folderorganizer lite but it said it has access to a lot of services - like making phonecalls - is this app legit?

I, like many others, have been using this to customise my screens and not had any issues at all. I would believe that the "making phonecalls" part is due to the fact you can alter shortcuts/icons etc of existing apps, some of which will make phone calls. I don't think Folderorganizer itself will make the phonecalls, just apps altered by it.

BTW, Hi everyone, been lurking for a while but now feel capable of joining in LOL

This might sound like a stupid question, but where do you all get your wallpapers? Through an app or just download the jpegs and apply manually?

Also, am I wrong or is LauncherPro not in the app store in the UK?

Cheers.

Hi,

Wallpapers can be found on the Market (Flikie Wallpapers is an example) but I think the majority of people just alter jpgs and then copy them onto their phones, I know that's what I did. You can use any jpg so just fund a pic you like, get it into a 960x800 format if you can tho when applying the wallpaper you get to choose the boundaries of the pic allowed by the Desire.

Launcherpro is in the Market from the UK. Just search for Launcher and it's about 5 or 6 down as Launcherpro Beta.

Thanks for that - was concerned it might start dialling premium rate numbers without my permission or something.

So can you just choose any picture for an icon or do they have to be within a certain resolution? Is there anywhere that has a selection of aftermarket ones to download?

You're welcome :)

Using FolderOrganiser you can create folders and assign labels and icons to them, as a lot have done here for Tools, Internet, Multimedia etc You can also change icons for exisiting Apps if you want though I don't believe you can change the appearance of any Widgets.

As for icons then just look on the market, there are loads on there. The ones a lot of people, including myself, use seems to be ibox icons collection. There are 3 packs with a whole variety of icons and all are free :)

Just installed LauncherPro Beta, and it seems very awesome!

My only question is: how do I access it e.g. I can't find it on the apps screen so if I set it to be the default launcher how do I change back to HTC sense?

Open the app up in management application under setting and there's an option if you want to set the launcher as your default or not. Download Home Switcher if you'll be switching back and forth often, it switches tha launchers very quickly :)

Also, I can't seem to use HTC widgets with this - is this because they only work with Sense?

In addition to what Roze said, with regards to the HTC Widgets, they are only available in Sense UI I believe. You'll need to find alternative apps on the Market for any you use. I am sure if you say which ones you do use, people can give you some great alternatives on here.

I mainly need a good (and free) replacement for the clock and weather HTC widget (currently I use the clock which has weather on it too).

Also the power management widgets and calendar one.

Any suggestions people? :)

Well depends if you're willing to pay or not really.

Paying then Beautiful Widgets seems to be the most popular and a whole load of skins to choose from. I use it and it seems good as there are other widgets apart from clock and weather.

Freebies then Fancy Widget, Digital Clock Widget, Retro Clock Widget (basically search for Clock Widgets LOL) and weatherbug seems to be a good and popular weather app.

Think there is an Extended Power Management app on the market tho maybe wrong on that. I use Calwidget which is pretty good though depends how fancy you want your calendar to be.

I've found a good alternative to the power control widgets. It's called EasySwitch and it controls the sync, network, gps, wifi, bluetooth, airplane, silencer etc all in one compact widget. You can customise it too :)
