In a not-so-surprising statement made at a Sprint investor conference yesterday, Sprint’s CFO Robert Brust believes that the HTC EVO 4G can keep up with the launch of the iPhone 4 when it hits AT&T later this month. He calls the state of the industry (for competitors, anyway) “iPhone introduction” trauma whenever Apple drops their [...]Catch up on the best Android Apps at DroidAppShowcase and AndroidApplications.com!!!

I love android but I hate the companies who put it out. The hardware is pretty damn ugly and the relations with most of the companies and their customers is a joke. Apple is pretty easy and IMO first class with custom service and addressing issues. I don't understand what most of these companies are thinking... I mean how are you going to release the next "iPhone killer" when you can't A: release updates for problems that exist for over 6 months and B: purposely ignore customer concerns/emails/whatever.

Preodering iPhone 4 and waving goodbye to android until someone can slap these companies into submission.

Good luck with AT&T's customer service.

Definitely not looking forward to that but luckily I'm just adding on to my mother in law's plan and she's a 20+ year (retired) employee on disability from them and has a lot of luck getting what she wants out of customer service. While sprint's isn't the best CS from what I hear it's tons better than AT&T. Cake is there but I definitely can't eat it :p

A large part of the problems with updates is that most of these companies want to tailor make Android like they want it for their phones; HTC Sense (very good), Motorola Motoblur (alright), and Samsung Touchwiz (Ugghhh...). So when a new version of Android hits, they have to ensure that it works with their specific UI. The updates for Android are thankfully getting faster and we're closing the nasty fragmentation problem the OS was getting a bad name for. If you want to jump to iPhone far be it from me to try to stop you, but consider this: the original iPhone redefined what a touchscreen smartphone could be whereas the 4G is now playing catch up to Android in terms of functionality. How long do you think it will be before the iPhone is outdated again?

Oh it won't compete but it will do well, with $25 capped data AT&T is bleeding media junkies and power users just waiting to use the huge ass EVO 4G with 4 frickin G even if it isn't real 4G. Plus you can video call all your friends when theirs no wifi while your friend with an iPhone blushes and continues playing doodle jump. jump jump jump jump. Then when your waiting for the bus everyone can look over your shoulder watching movies on your huge ass phone screen while your iPhone friend continues playing doodle jump. jump jump jump ... dead battery, and hes SOL because he can't change the battery, unlike you who can switch swap batteries in the middle of the day.

If you think Apple does the (a) or (b) you pointed out, you are going to be feeling pretty stupid when you actually use the handset for awhile. Apple is notorious for not caring about what customers say/want/need.

The user is no longer important when it comes to Apple products. It is entirely what Jobs thinks is important, which is exactly why it took how long to get copy and paste on the iPhone? Why do I not have flash yet? Why did it take so many years to get multitasking?

To make matters worse, continuing to deal with at&t and their overpriced fees isn't something I'm keen on continuing.

I have 4 evos on order and and waiting to pay around $500 in etfs. Well worth it though.

Oh...forgot to mention. Have fun with your new $325 etf/phone with only 2GB of data and no messaging.

Well there you go,ANDROID is on many of the phone companies compare to apple only phone, and how you figure android os is ugly? you can customize and personalize the phone to your individual liking..but looking at icons all over your screen is real nice and pretty to look at since the first iphone..
