Desire My Faults

Hey all, thought id post my thoughts on the desire. Overall brilliant phone and as my last phone was a 3g I do certainly see it as a step forward. But these things do lets say wind me up:

When ever I send a message it constantly comes up with message not sent. It does it so often to the point I give up and re boot.

Randomly loses signal and wont connect or find o2 till I reboot

Randomly switches off sometimes. Not happened much but it has done it

Dropped calls. I answer but comes up as a missed call even though its only rung for about two rings

Noticed that when I downloaded from market takes about two mins to kick in till it starts

I admit the above faults are not bed well the top one is for me as I txt most the day but In ways the desire excels in other ways it lets itself down. In some ways I want my iphone back but in other ways I wanna stick. Whats other peoples thoughts?

Hi
I'm on Vodafone and don't have any of the issues you mentioned. I don't think they are phone related but service related. (BTW - I moved from O2 because I was getting many of those issues on my old motorolo phone which I belive were caused because I am in a poor reception area for O2 where I live).

Good Luck
Pat

See http://androidforums.com/htc-desire/88856-sms-sending-failure-orange.html for my SMS issues (same as yours) but on Orange.

I've narrowed it down to a problem with when my phone is set to WCDMA or AUTO. It will very often fail to send texts and calls frequently go straight to voicemail (yours may well be connecting but then the signal is lost possibly).

As soon as I (and a work-mate with an identical phone and is on Orange) switch the phone to GSM only mode the problem disappears.

In my case it seems very much network related to the locality where I work and live (same area).

EDIT:
Oh and the odd spec of tiny dust is present on mine too but not really an issue, I do love the phone though :)
