First Sprint Bill for Evo... New Customer

I checked online for my first bill to see if its been put up there. I have the 79.99 plan (69.99 + 10) and the 36 buck activation, but my bill is 136 bucks!

If my math is correct ... 80 +36 = 116. Is it really 20 dollars in taxes and stuff there? I can't see a detailed bill though which includes where the extra 20 is coming from, but WOW ... caught me off guard.

My ATT bill didn't seem to have that much added on, so I was just wondering if anyone elses first time bill was like this.

When did you sign up for the contract?

I signed up on the 4th, Sprint's billing cycle ends/starts on the 6th so I had two days which were prorated.

Get this, for two days they charged $1.33 for my service plan and 10 dollars for premium data! I still had to pay 10 dollars for two days of usage. If I had any patients what so ever I could have waiting until the 6th to pick up my Evo.

oh well

Call and complain. At very least they will prorate that $10 premium data, maybe even waive it for that 2 days. If not, just ask for the cancellation dept and they will certainly waive it.

Interesting...

I received my bill today too... No activation fee AND somehow have a $5 web credit.

+ $69.99 plan
-$15.40 corporate discount (22%)
+ $10.00 Premium data charge
-----------
$73.20
+ $4.06 surcharges
+ $4.70 taxes + fees
Total: $81.96

The employee discount does not seem to be calculated in for the $10 premium data fee... :-/

Yup, signed up on the 4th ... Wow, 10 bucks for data!, how ridiculous. Why not release the phone on the 6th then .... smh.

I'm definitely calling.

PS, I thought all Sprint nights and weekends was 7pm on Everything plan.

Call them to ask why your premium discount wasn't included? Because mine was.

You aren't paying $10 for premium data. I have the same costs on my bill as a new customer. $9.33 for the actual plan and I am only charged $1.33 for premium data. Says it plain as day on your bill breakdown on sprint.com. You may have to gain administrator privileges to view this. I had to ask for those privileges to even pay my bill online. My 15% discount is even applied on my first bill :) You also can get a $5 credit if you sign up for eBill. Total cost is like $131 or so

Can you screen capture the portion of your bill that shows the $10 premium fee w/ your discount applied?

I just argued with them over it, and they insist that no discounts apply.

Me: "I receive a 22% off of my sprint bill. Is the premium data fee not considered part of my bill? Is it not considered a service?"

Sprint Supervisor: "No, sir it is a premium service add-on and no discounts apply."

Me: "It is not an add-on if it is required. It is part of the service and the discount should apply."

A sprint rep had also told me prior to service that I would not have to pay the $10/mo fee if I did not live in a 4G area -- regardless whether or not I knew this was factual, it is what their rep told me. I called to discuss this.

They were not willing to do anything about this fee of monthly credits, but the initial cancellation rep offered a $50 one time fee. The supervisor then told me that the $50 offer was invalid and that she would only give it to me because her employee mistakenly offered it to me.

I then asked her if this is another case of Sprint offering me things they would not follow through with... She had no problem with me cancelling, but that is fine.

I wasn't trying to be a jerk, I just do not appreciate being told things only to find out different. It is not good business practice.

Read the fine print, there is a 15% service tax from sprint
Not in my fine print. There are a number of ripoff fees & taxes but there is no 15% flat fee.

Sprint Surcharges:
Federal-Univ Serv Assess Non-LD $3.05
Administrative charge $0.99
Regulatory Charge $0.40

Federal/State Taxes:
NJ State 911 Tax $0.90
7% NJ Sales Tax $6.77

My activation fee was "reimbursed" by Sam's Club (Radio Shack) with a $40 credit on my account but my 27% discount isn't there which has me concerned although the "kiosk manager" said it could take 1 or 2 billing cycles.

IF you have a spending limit on your account they also tack on $5.00 as a fee if you don't give them direct access to your bank account for auto payments. I've been with them for over a year and a half and never even been close to late with any payments but they still charge me that fee.
