I liked the click screen; much more intuitive than pecking on a touch screen, IMHO. But, Swype tops them both by a mile.

Pros:
1. Hardware/OS/Software/Firmware etc (generations ahead of RIM)
2. App selection/pricing
3. browsing experience

My battery life is close to where I was with my S1 (and much, much better than I was with the S1 for the first six months of it's release). Standby/Idle battery life is nowhere close, but that is usually irrelevant for me. I haven't "needed" to charge my Inc (w/1750 Seido) during a normal workday in a few weeks.

Cons:

1. Message handling (bb wins this one by a significant margin)
2. no pin messaging/bb messenger (may or may not effect you, for me it meant an extra $5 a month for a text plan.)
3. LED/notifications (bb is a caddy, Inc is a toyota)

And that is about it (6 weeks on Inc, 10 yrs on BB). My quick and dirty BB detox plan:

1. Profile Profile - Android app on AppBrain
2. K-9 Mail Downloads - k9mail - Project Hosting on Google Code
3. Handcent Handcent SMS - Android app on AppBrain

and (of course) Opera+Opera bridge ;)

Opera Mini 5 browser - Android app on AppBrain

OperaBridge - Android app on AppBrain

Just switched from BB Storm to Incredible ---- Incredible is "incredible" it handles exchange email via active sync flawlessly. BB was okay, but Incredible and activesync works every time and syncs immediately. It also syncs contacts with Ford Sync very well. BB did not. I am really really impressed with this phone.... Internet is much faster with the incredible then it was with the storm.

Switching from Blackberry Tour 9630 w/Camera

Pro:
  • Web browsing is so much nicer, BB browser sucked
  • Screen is so much sexier
  • $30 data plan gets much more utilization
  • Android app store is great
  • Call clarity seems better
  • Far less sluggish

Con:
  • Battery life. Went from 3-5 days moderate use to 1 day moderate use.
  • Keyboard. HTC Keyboard, Smart Keyboard, Better Keyboard, Swype, Shapewriter, etc. don't compare to the accuracy and speed I could get on a BB keyboard. I have to type ~half the speed to avoid missed letters (despite the preview pop-up still showing? what gives?), and typing without looking is pretty much impossible.
  • Call volume. Might be clearer, but my BB was almost twice as loud both in earpiece and via a headset or bluetooth device.
  • Email. Blackberry one box fits all was way nicer in functionality and features over what I get on HTC Inc.
  • Camera. BB Tour 9630 3.2MP camera shot clearer photos easier than HTC Inc which seems to me to just be a crappy sensor being overloaded with 8mp of noise.

End result: Keeping HTC Incredible as I can live with the battery life, call volume, email, and camera. Keyboard will hopefully be remedied by either root customizations or just rolling my own replacement when I get the time.

Seriously? I was a blackberry user before I switched to a previous HTC phone. My girlfriend currently has the curve, I have the incredible. I tried using her phone after using swype for the past month and just cant get back into it. That moment I told myself I would never NEED a physical keyboard ever again. Granted you can type pretty fast on a blackberry, swype does have an edge. I can also one hand it a lot easier.

Yea. I find Shapewriter > Swype, and swiping to be great for one-hand.

But none of the keyboards offer the speed I'm used to, nor the functionality. If I type too fast it will still show the letter preview pop-up, but never actually compute that I typed it. So I have to purposely type slow enough for it to keep up, which bugs me.

I also don't like that it switches layouts/views for symbols - I would prefer being able to hit an ALT key and then another key to make commonly used symbols, then store the rest of the symbols in an alternate view.

Better Keyboard is the worst at this, the symbols above the keys in the Qwerty view don't even match the layout of the symbols on the keys in the Symbol view, what is that about?

Smart Keyboard let's you turn off pop-up preview, which I think has let me type a little faster without missed keys - but its word prediction doesn't seem to be as good as BK or HTC's default.

It's just my personal opinion, I'm kind of picky about the features and functionality of my UI...

I'm coming from 9530, and have had my Inc for 4 days. So far, I am underwhelmed and missing my Storm. I'm sure I'll get used to Inc. Just being honest. Battery life is poor, sound/call quality is poor. Kind of disappointed after waiting for 3 weeks.

Wow. Sarcasm? J/k

How in depth are you going with the incredible?

Not being a prick BTW. I'm intrigued by your opinion. List ur pros and cons please?
