*** Official Motorola Droid X Pre-Release Thread***

Motorola doesn't use snapdragon

thats what I thought but when my friend told me that, I google it and there is some proof that motorola has been thinking about Qualcomm for sometime now.

Snapdragon 1 GHz phones coming to Android sooner than you think - Motorola , Mobile

MOTOSPLIT to Rock Snapdragon, Android, and Coming to AT&T?

Droid Xtreme Replaces Motorola’s Droid Shadow

the last link seem to agree with me about the snapdragon part (posted 4 days ago). So I guess only time will tell :)

Official name "Droid X by Motorola". Pics to come.

I take it you have inside info?! SCOOOORE! Thanks for sharing :)

I'm super pumped that it is being named Droid X. Not only does this then appear to consumers that it is simply a brother to the Droid (which will help sales) but it also is sweet and easy. TBH "X" is also more business friendly than "Xtreme".

Keep the info coming!

That is hugely disappointing to me. A slower processor, smaller screen, lesser camera, and no HDMI port? You'd think they would put a little more into the sequel of their phone that got them recognition in the Android world.

It actually makes sense cause if they put all that stuff in the droid 2 then what does the droid x have. Also It also supports my friends claim about the snapdragon, no disrespect to maddigital, but if the droid x has an omap then its going to be the same speed. but i guess will see :)

A lot of people are mixed on having a physical keyboard. I can't even decide what I'm more disappointed about, the processor or the screen size (I'm a whore for a big screen).

No disrespect taken, . The only information i have is actually having the phone and currently typing this message with it. I have no reason to believe the processor in this phone will be different at launch unless quadrant is giving me the wrong processor. My bets on the 3640
