Ok, so I've made changes to the status bar and other items, re-zipped the folder, placed it on the sd card and used the following command to update the file using terminal emulator:

adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /dev/mtdblock4 /system
dd if=/sdcard/framework-res.apk of=/system/framework/framework-res.apk

The last time I did this, it worked. It immediately re-booted the phone and when it re-booted, the new icons had applied. This time the droid got stuck in the boot animation and never booted. I had to restore my latest spr backup. Any ideas on what went wrong or what i need to do differently?

Try this: http://androidforums.com/all-things...notification-clock-pull-down-text-colors.html

Worked perfectly on 2.01, 2.1, and works perfectly on Froyo.

I've been using the instructions in that guide every time I switch ROMs or themes for a while now, but I wasn't sure that it would still work on 2.2. Thanks for confirming that it does!!

Just to make sure we're talking about the same thing, can you confirm that the ColorChange.jar v3.1 works in Froyo -- or are you talking only about the .xml editing instructions?

Yeah, I was skeptical as well, but I really wanted to customize my own stuff... So I backed everything up and gave it a go. Worked like a charm!
