Not enough storage.

On android 2.1 (the stock on htc desire), you can only install to phone storage. 2.2 supports apps2SD where you can install on SD card.

You can try clearing application cache for individual applications in Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications. Look at the sizes (Menu > View > Sort by sizes)

Hope this helps.

For applications which I dont need to save settings in, I back them up with Astro file manager and uninstall ones I'm not really using. i can reinstall from the back up using the same app.

Hi
I have 2.52GB storage left on my SD card (only 16MB is left in phone) but when I try to install Google Earth, it says that system has not enough storage.

Any idea?

You may have 16mb in you phone and the google earth app says it is 5mb but it is actually over 22mb and doesn't yet enable it to be installed on your sd card.

Apps to SD is coming in FROYO ( coming soon, hopefully ).

If you cant wait then you can always root your phone and enable apps2sd.
