Extreme vs. Incredible

Motoblur has yet to be put on a high-end phone. I think....,
Hummingbird seems to be the same one in iPad but galaxy S is struggling to play 720p video off of youtube, is iphone os that much better? or Samsung UI just a bottleneck?
What do you guys think?

I think I understand why you're making the comparison between the Hummingbird and the A4 processor (in the iPad): I heard a rumor that Samsung produces the A4... <--- Is that correct info?
Also, has it been confirmed that the A4 processors are just Hummingbirds w/ some slight changes?

Sorry for questioning the underlying parts of your post, but I think we need to establish that before we move on to speculating about why the Hummingbird struggles where the iPad doesn't (apparently).

As I type, I also realize we're moving more and more off topic too. Perhaps we should reclaim the original Extreme vs Incredible discussion. If not, perhaps the OP should request he mods to change the thread title accordingly.

I don't know for sure.
But I was reading Koreans news today and found an article stating that Chips are made by Samsung and LCD screen by LG. Not sure how accurate it was. Galaxy S is launching soon (maybe already in some countries) so we will know for sure soon.

I would like to add something to this conversation since I have been using the incredible since April 24th and prior to that I have the 1st gen droid for 5 months.

The incredible is crazy fast. If the droid x is anything like the incredible you will be very happy. The only real difference is the skin. Blur or Sense.

Do you REALLY think you will use the HDMI out very often? Doubt it but it is cool to say you can.

720p video... Do you really care?

Screen size is the real selling point over the incredible.

Bottom line is that you are choosing an Android device (open) over the iPhone (closed). This shows you have the ability to think for yourself and don't need Steve to think for you.

Like I said in another thread regarding the front facing camera, if you have kids, especially the age of mine, having 720p video is a nice feature to have, especially when sharing the vids online. Being able to quickly set up and show pics and videos on my TV is the icing!

How do you think the Incredible's AMOLED compares to your old Droid? I've seen them up close but not for a long time. I'm debating weather or not to get rid of my Inc for the X but the AMOLED is the only thing in the way.

Ok. So you are the one out of 1000 that might make good use of the features. The other 999 just want the features so they can say they have them. Lame reason.

I still think the screen size is the only solid reason the phone might be better.

Put the droid or incredible next to each other and they are almost the same. Not different enough to make it a deciding factor.

Put the droid or incredible next to the 3GS and the difference is HUGE.

I'm not bashing the Droid X. I believe it will be awesome....just like the incredible already is.

I am jealous of the screen size. Size does matter.

(that's what she said?)

Are you saying that you prefer the AMOLED screen? I'm assuming so. That said, the DI screen is very vibrant inside. In direct sunlight, it is very difficult for me to view, at least in June. The TFT screen on my BB 9630 is much easier to read outside...but doesn't look near as nice inside. I hate my 9630 btw.

I have no idea what the X screen will look like but I will take slightly diminished overall display quality if it allows me to easily view the display outside. Of course I'd like the best of both. To your question, I think the DI screen has a better display than the old Droid. Again, no idea on X.

I cant wait till when the next android phone comes out, everyone will be bashing this phone. Incredible's been out >2 months, people are making it sound like the lg voyager.

I wouldnt say that, there is only one phone in my mind that is better than the Droid Incredible and that is the Evo 4g...These new Moto Droids (x, and 2) arent better than the DInc. I prefer a smaller phone, and the DInc is the perfect size in my mind, and its fast, and I love Sense. Just my .02

The incredible screen is awesome. Not as bright in sunlight as the droid but not enough to complain.

I now have concerns about the hardware buttons. Not a big fan of pocket dialing.

thats because the incredible is amoled. They are very pretty indoors, but suck hard outside in the sun. I'm outside or in my car most of the time, so as fast and as pretty as the incredible is, I am more than happy to wait for the X

So why do you you like the EVO better than? It has a couple of extra features than the Incredible but that is it, I have heard quite a few people on the EVO forums saying it was a little laggy compared to the incredible. So to me it has a tad bit better features but it is mostly a bigger screen.

Now these two phones are supposed to be faster according to someone who has hands on experience, bigger screens(well I am not sure about Droid 2), HDMI out like the EVO, I guess my point is that the only thing missing from the EVO is the front facing camera and sense if you want that.

I think it depends on what you want, and if you want a big screen. I was just confused on why you think the EVO is better but not these, especially since you dont want a big phone like these?

Its just that the EVO has more features, I like the Incredible better personally.

I had a chance to get this phone for free trading my dad my incredible but after taking a day to research b its a no. sense ui makes this phone I love the integration of facebook with people the contact widget is unbeatable nothing like it the bookmark one also, theres also full flash support via a download on xda that only works on sense phones with the x you will have to wait tell 2.2 and I love my amoled screen if you turn on full brightness you can see it fine outdoors. There is tv out support on the incredible also just need a special cable, 720p should be coming soon considering the evo has it with the same processor and camera. Also people disregard the importance of the optical joystick its extremly obnoxious to go back and edit text without it, because you constantly miss where you want to add your letter.

Main issue is size, so if you do not mind probably having to almost always use two hands to operate the device and do not mind the bigger size, this device should be a great choice.

For me, I like the ability to operate the device with one hand. Case in point, this reply was done with Swype with one hand. Tried texting with one hand with EVO and could not do it and I have medium hands. Perhaps if I had bigger hands or at least longer thumbs, my perspective would be different.

Actually, I could operate with one hand, but always awkwardly holding it and at risk of dropping it.

"Beer", it's what's for dinner.
