Just bounced out to ESPN at ESPN Home on my Incredible and like the look, but in the "video" section there are only 7 offerings and this is little highlight blurbs. On the ESPN 3 site you can watch full length games and I can browse to this site on my Incredible but when I get the viewing window, I just get a little yellow triangle with an exclamation mark in it.

Is there any way to play ESPN 3 videos on the Incredible?

ESPN is highly flash oriented.

The HTC Incredible has flash lite, which isn't really up to the task of playing those videos.

When the Incredible gets Android 2.2, it will have a full version of adobe flash and should play ESPN 3 just fine.

From my understanding you don't even have to log in to access ESPN 3. If you are behind a firewall you can access it remotely thru your home broadband service, but for most stuff it's free without an account ---> FAQS - ESPN3

I did see where you can get it thru V-Cast and some other Verizon service (that costs $199/year) but was hoping for a way to get it on the Incredible. Looks like waiting for 2.2 will be what will fix it.... what's the time frame on that?

There is no specific date for the release, but HTC has pledged that 2.2 will be hitting the HTC Desire, Evo and Incredible first and that all 2.2-capable devices will be upgraded by the end of 2010.

I have: original Droid with 2.2 and flash installed. I am a comcast internet customer (on espn3's list of approved carriers). I can access espn3 on my laptop. When I try to access it on my droid, clicking on "remote access" or "watch now" or any of the events, it prompts me to select a provider and log in. I went to comcast.net and logged in, but even after I am logged in there it continually prompts me select my internet provider.

What can I do?

I've never gotten E3 to work even after FROYO. I had always thought it was a Flash 10.1 thing, but robojerk is probably right with VW as the ISP being blocked. If everyone was able to access E3 via all smartphones, it would probably crash some servers over in Bristol.

Go buy a Slingbox at BB or WM...or better yet pick up a used one on Ebay. The box will pay for itself in one football season. No monthly fees, just the upfront cost of the box. (Of course this could change with LTE and 4G phones.)

Paying for VCast or the NFL app at $10/month is rediculous in my opinion. I have the Dish VIP922 which has Sling built in and I love this feature. Perfect example: I was on my way back from Europe a few weeks ago, and my connecting flight in Atlanta was delayed to thunderstorms by 3 hours. What to do and how to kill time? I'll just connect up to my DVR and watch some stuff I recorded while I was gone on my trip.

ESPN3 won't work via Data. But, I have fios at home and was watching college football on my wifi network on my phone via ESPN 3 on Saturday.

On another note, I downloaded the NFL app (finally) yesterday and you can stream NFL RedZone over data. Pretty cool stuff IMO.

Confirmed that it does work via WIFI turned on. However, it's still too cumbersome...too many windows and pop-ups are open and the espn video player screen is too small. Still vote for Slingplayer.

If you press inside of the video player a little bar will come down and you can then go into full screen. Still, I agree there are quite a few windows to deal with. It worked well enough for me though.
