Root Can't "get the tools" in Droid Root Helper

Decided to start my first thread after a few posts here and there in other users' threads.
I rooted my phone using Droid Review's instructions (YouTube - Motorola Droid How to ROOT your Droid - The Easy Way!). Then DL'd the suggested apps to do a nandroid backup in case of failure when installing custom rom's in this video YouTube - Motorola DROID - How to Create a Nandroid Backup - Part 1. When I go to "get the tools", it gives me an error message saying that it's not supported on my phone (Motorola Droid). I ran a couple searches and found nothing. Any help on this? I'd like to get to running on a new rom. Thanks.

wow im actually going through the same thing actually but when i go to download the tools it just takes me to media fire i hit "start download" then it just loops im gonna try to install adrozip and the linda file manager first and see if that helps

nick this post is several months old. Droid Root Helper will not be much help if you are trying to root 2.1. It was for 2.0.1
