Cell Standby outragiously high?!

Mine was that high one day. It went down but always aroudn 20-30% and Time w/o signal was high, 30-50%. Today I tried changing to "sprint only" network in the settings and amazingly my time w/o signal is down to 7-8%. Battery life is improved today as well. Was getting 14hours til completely dead (still decent) but after switching the network around I am at 47% left 12 hours after unplugging. My cell standby is at 28%. Worth trying. I didn't notice it affected signal or data today.

Will give it a shot and report back with my findings since I appear to be a prime candidate for this test. My apartment must be lined with led or something.

Guess ill be safe from the end of the world on the 24th of June..haha.

click cell standby. check your no signal percentage. if its very high do this

in phone type
*#*#4636#*#*
go to phone info
hit menu -> select radio band
it will force close, go back to phone info, scroll down to preferred network type and hit cdma auto (prl)
this makes it so the phone doesnt keep searching for a gsm radio and saves battery

lmk how you make out.

edit oh nvm youve already done this

Err...I dont see the "sprint only" option anywhere?!

Just a tip, but the *#*# trick needs to be done each time the phone is reset. Don't know if you've reset your phone since the first time you did it....

yes i make sure to do it each time
