Craigslist EVOs selling for around $450? Anyone buy an EVO non-retail?

So I bought this phone but decided it's not for me, yet. I was going to keep it as a wifi phone and use the Touch Pro 2 as a regular phone but that didn't make sense to keep the EVO and not use it for its full potential so I'm goign to sell it because everytime I use it just to use the web, it kills me haha.

My phone is basically like new, and I thought I would be able to get at least $480 for it, basically what I paid from wirefly. I'm not looking to make any money off it (even though I did use the $50 bing cashback, but you never know if you get it or not). I listed it for $480 firm on craigslist but it seems everyone's offering $450 and under for it. I would've thought it would easily sell for the asking price considering it's out of stock everywhere and in like new condition.

Anyone want to chime in on this, am I just being unrealistic?

A big factor for me holding back from enjoying the EVO is that I"m still on the SERO plan,

Am I just being unrealistic?

Oh yeah, MUCH too unrealistic.

I'd say... selling me the Evo for $100 is fine ;)

Kidding aside I had the same issue though with selling my iPhone. Everyone kept asking me "why would I buy from you full retail when I can buy it for subsidized price?" At least with the iPhone its a GSM phone so you could sell it to people overseas but the EVO only works in the U.S. where anyone looking to get one will want to pay $200 for a brand new one.

I'd just return it since your still within 30 days...

Why would anyone pay a price near "like new" when they can get it new for that price, or even less??

Just my opinion!!!

well thats if your able to find one .. I asked so many bestbuy yesterday no luck . And today I went to a Sprint store to buy a cover and screen protector and they said they are not selling EVO retail Price in the store just with Contract . Luckily I got mines Yesterday night ...

i'd return it but then i'd have to pay $10 or so to ship it back to wirefly.

i wouldn't mind selling it for less than i paid if the phone was in stock.

my lowest price i would sell it for would be $470 and hopefully the bing cashback will kick in.

and if i can't sell it, i'll just use it myself because i don't think i'll be able to get a new EVO for $430 in a month or so off contract anyways.

got mine for $325.00 yesterday off craigslist BRAND NEW. The phone was completely sealed and never opened at all. I was shocked when I saw it at that price. Most are selling for $500.00 on there. That was a big score for me.

Just wondering why did you pay more than $200? since you will still have to purchase the $80/mo plan anyways...

Only two things I could think of is a) bad credit so cant purchase a phone through sprint b) still had alot of months left on sprint contract and wanted to upgrade

I can't upgrade till august and I wanted to try it now. I still have my upgrade available. I also got a 50 dollar credit from Sprint, so i only paid 275 realistically. No activation fee or tax so i only paid about 40 dollars more than a new customer and I keep my upgrade and my $50 cancel fee that was adjusted.
