How do u feel about ur galaxy??

Even though i`m disappointed with samsung for not providing the firmware updates but i am happy to search for new firmwares and know things on how to root my phone or actually what is rooting (thanks Darkaz) .I am able to learn my phone instead of just using .Even though i use a lot of time on it but i dont think it is waste .

Any how that is how i feel . I am WRONG ???

I just got this phone a month ago for free (yeah right) on a new contract and the guys at the store told me to get a blackberry instead, but everyone else has one so I got it because of the 5megapixel camera. Then I did some research on it and found out its already obsoulet??wtf. the only thing I dont like is the battery power it sux!!

It is obsolete, but you got it for "free". New phones go for much higher prices (even with 3 years contracts!!!).

And in Canada, it's still sold as a new phone.

I would bet we are having more fun than almost any other Android phone users.
checking and experimenting with new rom's realy is fun, and seeing how this phone gets better every day thanks to developers working on custom roms.

It truly is becoming a great great phone, i wouldn't change it for anything else :)

You have good point there. DRAKAZ made us happy, well, Samsung did release 1.6 sources after all...

I feel rather angry with it. At least once a week I really need it quick
and the damn lock button won't unlock as it should --> PREDICTABLY!
I'm left staring at the phone waiting for it to do something. Or not.
Idiotic design.

Secondly, I just tried to pair it with my father's Sony Ericsson K800i via
Bluetooth. It gave me "paired but not connected" error and all attempts
to transfer pictures failed. Then I tried to pair the K800i with my Mom's
Nokia E71 and guess what? IT WORKED AS IT SHOULD.

I have a ~60 EUR Blutooth module waiting for me to have the time to install
in my car. When I do it, if the Galaxy won't cooperate with it, I think I'm
going to smash the damn phone on the tarmac.

Android is so freaking Beta and Samsung is so no-support that the combo
disgusts me.

I've noticed the new Galaxy S on sale. Very promising hardware, however, given
my experience with the Galaxy, I would definitely not buy Galaxy S.

The best part of this phone is the AMOLED screen. Android is still a novelty here in Canada so when I get asked to share my phone the first comment is how bright and colourful Android is. :)

Sure when my contract runs out I'll look forward to a newer phone but for the remaining time this will be a very nice smartphone.

Its an integral part of me :p

But here in India it was suddenly removed off the shelves maybe to make space for Samsung Wave/Galaxy i9000 ( This is where Samsung suc**)

Anyways got it for around 300 $ without contract.
I simply fail to understand the prices charged by the Brands here in India.

Apart from it....I am loving the experience :D
Just some black screens and occasional FC.

I hope some of it may be addressed in the GAOSP 2.2 release.

Right now eagerly participating the 2.2 release.

I like my Galaxy phone even though Bell Mobility and Samsung will not be upgrading it. However I am using the Russian firmware and am enjoying the enhanced functionality of it, i.e. Google Maps, Navigation and other apps not available with 1.5. The GPS works better and the phone is faster and more responsive. I have played with a phone that has 2.2 on it and right now I don't see any reason to spend money and upgrade to a newer phone. Quite happy with what I have.

could you please help me.... wanting to root my samsung galaxy apollo. i havent got a clue how to do it.. but like the idea of my phone running faster.
thank you

Don't, you're in Galaxy i7500 section. So trying to use Drakaz's Galaxo or GAOSP is a no go.
You will need to post this question in another section of this forum. I'm sure DaSchmarotzer will help you with that (moving this in the right section). ;)

NOTE: Damn Sam*censored* confusing people with Galaxy franchise. Galaxy, Galaxy Spica, Galaxy S,... ...so confusing for some people.

That is so true, people are always confused when it comes to Galaxy phones. Gotta tell you that I had no idea the Galaxy 3 and the Galaxy Apollo existed before today.
