If you've been waiting for audible to hit android like I have, then I have some good news if you subscribe to the US audible site.

There is a beta version of the audible app available here:

http://groups.google.com/group/audible-for-android-beta

Unfortunately, it only supports the american site so far, but apparently the other sites are coming soon. I'm still downloading a book atm, but from what I've seen, the app is pretty sweet.

Thanks to Leo Laporte of The TWiT Netcast Network with Leo Laporte for his tip in the TWIG podcast.

Awesome thanks.
Been a user of audible for a long time and this was a nice surprise. Even was able to download all my previously purchased files directly. Only beef is that it wont save current pause state after shutting it down. Seems you must click the book mark button instead. Still not a big issue.
I don't have that problem. I have a HTC Desire. I suggest you log it on the group page as a bug.

Version update available. I bet a few people have been waiting for this:

Major Updates
1. Improved playback while multi-tasking
2. Fixed sporadic sign-out Issues
3. Support for audible.co.uk, .de, and .fr libraries
4. New setting for Wi-Fi only download

The faqs say you can transfer audible files to the device but where are the .aax files on the pc? I found .aa files. How do you play books? The only screen is to download books from your library. That takes forever on 3g! I hope this works with my eris...

As I understand it, .aax files are the enhanced (highest quality) audible files. The player doesn't currently support .aa files, but they are working on adding that. In the mean time, you will have to re-download your files from audible in .aax.
