I dont think I have ever been so proud to stick by HTC while holding my Evo in my hand while talking to multiple sad faced iPhone users.

Im out with my girlfriend to attend a birthday bash for her friend and friends. About 90% of them had an iPhone (including my girl), and I just whip out my Evo... "Oh these dual flash LEDs are great for camera and party events.."
:D

Lol. I wonder will this be the same for the new iPhone 4 users.

I just love the attention this phone has gotten me. I love the fact that the evo and even all android phones aren't as popular by the iPhone standards. It's literally everyone has an iPhone or blackberry but besides my father neighbor and friend, I've never seen anybody with an evo or any android device I currently have at that time. So it makes Android experience so unique

What I like doing is when I'm hanging out with iPhone users - when they're talking about the front facing camera of the iPhone 4, I mention the evo has that too AND it's not limited to just other EVO phones...then I proceed to make a skype video call to my wife using Fring :) PWNED

funny thing is the Iphone 4s Front facing camera is going to suck the D.. its only .3 MP like seriously?

I was in mall last night playing with one of the evo's at the sprint store. I could hear the sound of nerds talking next to me. I looked over and their were 2 guys wearing blue apple shirts drooling over the other demo EVO next to mine. I just listened for a few more minutes before saying anything. One must have been the rebellious type. He was loving the phone. The other seemed like the jealous type. He was trying to play its features down a bit. I turned over to joke with them. I told them they better not get caught in here drooling over the competition. One laughed and told me he has a Nokia N900 as his phone. The other was more brainwashed. I asked him what he is going to tell customers who want a bigger screen than 3.5 inches. He said with that nerd sarcasm " we have the ipad". I just smiled and told him good luck fitting that in your pocket.
It was weird seeing these apple guys outside of their element. I personally enjoy the apple store. I like playing with the ipads, macbooks, ect. I always try to joke with the employees in there. I ask them questions about how to play flash video's on the ipad. Just pushing their buttons.
It will be fun to play with my EVO in the apple store on june 24th.

While me and my friends were seated in a long table at some deli here in Houston, beside us someone started playing with her iPhoneGS and checking out the scores of the world cup. I heard them comparing the new iPhone 4 to the Evo 4G and overheard one of them saying that the Evo is no match.... Miffed, I pulled out my Evo, and started watching the World Cup Live on Sprint TV... Suffice to say, I shut them up pretty good and noticed some side glances while me and my friends enjoy watching the game while we ate our sandwiches... :D TRUE STORY!

come on guys, megapixels aint everything. we still havent seen iPhone 4 in action, so we cant compare actual implementation. I tried fring with my phone and its not the best designed implementation of video chat out there. I hope skype comes out with their own client for droid and iphone.
Knowing apple, their implementation on lower spec hardware will be top notch.

I may be a bit different than most people but i have zero desire to video chat with people either on a phone or on my computer. I cant imagine asking any of my friends to call me up and video chat with them. It would be awkward. In fact really awkward.

Now i may want to see my kids on video chat once in a while. But really thats it. Me and my friends wont stare at each other in a screen like that.

It will be interesting to see how this video chat thing turns out.

Seeing your kids while you're away from home is exactly how Apple is marketing their video chat. I don't think anyone is expecting random strangers to default to video chat any time soon (but in the far future, it may happen.)

I think the iphone camera app is cool and love how its integrated with the phone
and allows you to actually use the back camera is well

I agree. Apple has always been about making things easier to use and seamless. While as of this year, it has its limitations of wifi only, the fact that its seamless is a big plus. They have never been about specs, they have always been about user experience and ease of use and I will give credit where credit is due. I really don't understand this my phone is better than your phone mentality. No one shoe fits all feet, some things work better for certain people while others work better for others, nothing wrong with that.

Outrigger i like your mindset(we share the same ideas about this lol)

It is very annoying to me when I hear my iphone friends talk about their phones being better than my phone just as its very annoying hearing androids try to sh*t on iphone.

To me this is like a technological version of penis envy(mines bigger and better than yours or i wish my phone was this kind of phone)

The only thing i wish Android could balance itself out with Apple is the app store and the seamlessness :) Other than that, i love my phone for what it does and i don't worry about what it can't do that other phones can. I brought it knowing all its potential and limits!

oh and another thing lol
i hate hearing about this "walled garden" of apple.
Their apps are only the apps Apple wants to allow you....200,000+ apps...if this is true, out of all those apps, I am sure i can find an application to fit any and every one of my needs(plus quite a few more sense apple is known to have like 50 fart apps or 10 of the same type of app).

That's the biggest complaint about iphones i hear(aside from At & T) is the fact that their app store is pretty much what apple wants you to have or use

I agree,

Lame excuses are "walled garden" and "Its quality, not quanitity"

Well, I hate to burst android fans' bubble, but even with a walled garden and even with a huge "quantity" of apps, the iPhone's apps absolutely trounces Android devices in quality.

IMO, I don't have a problem at all with the iPhone, its the network and its cost that I have a problem with. Surprisingly the network is seldom brought up. People like to attack the device itself for some reason. For example Facetime being wifi only. You really think Apple chose this? If Apple had it their way, it would be usable on 3G too. The same thing goes for tethering.

As far as I'm concerned, both the EVO/iPhone are pretty similar in hardware, after that it's your preference if you like iOS4 or Android.

There are things you 2 are not realizing about apple and the iphone. Sure they have 846 apps for farting. Sure they have 988 tetris games. Sure developers are quick to develop for their OS. But you guys need to realize the differences that android allows that apple will not. If you are not happy with the apple stock music player what app in their store can you download to replace it? If you are not happy with their phone dialer what app can replace it? If you want custom widgets where can you put them? If you dont want iTunes crashing your new windows pc what program can you use to sync your music to your iphone?

You see the "walled garden" you hate hearing about isnt just about playing 348 different versions of whack a mole. Its about freedom to customize. It's about apps being allowed to compete with their stock programs. Sure they have some cool apps in their app store. But where is the free turn by turn GPS that can come close to googles navigation?

You see android has a community behind it that thinks deeper into our user experience than just apps that help us make farting noises. We have developers that allow us to customize our phones. Apple tries to stop jailbrakers from gaining the ability to do anything to their core functions of their devices.
