Help Wifi problem

Hi.
I'm hoping someone can help me before i put my Desire in to quick drying cement and tossing it in to my local river!

I've only had my Desire a week and i do think it's great.
The problem is, it is now "Unable to start wifi".
I have been using wifi without any problems and downloaded some apps etc.. but now it can not start up.

All my other devices work fine that use wifi.

I've done all the usual things like rebooted the router, taken battery out of phone etc and still it's unable to start.

If i reset factory settings would i lose my contacts/music etc?

I can connect via Mobile network.

Can anyone please help?

Many thanks in advance.

Jon

Hi,

I have the same problem with wifi. Yesterday I have been caught by big storm and even when I dried up the phone completly, now I am unable to start wifi. Everything else is working.

Did you please managed to solve this issue?

I have tried almost everything on the software side. Flashed roms, unroot, clear storage, wipe. Nothing helps.

Thanks a lot.

You haven't by any chance accepted a recent phone firmware update? The unable to start wifi is a known problem for debranded phones. If you haven's done this then take it back to get it replaced if you have only had it a week.

So what's the procedure if I did accept the OTA? Had a T-Mobile Desire, debranded it, got OTA, wifi's not working.

What next?
