:mad::eek::):thinking:

Hello all, I am a virgin to everything HTC, Android, Desire and many other things, except for the best thing!

I need some help with making full use of my new phone the HTC Desire hence the schizophrenic faces at the top.

1. When using apps or being online, if I then hit 'Home' or 'Back' does that shut down the apps or connection automatically?

2. Icons that pop up when you hold 'Home', how do I close them down individually, or do they serve as a reminder of what I have recently used?

3. How do I import my calendar notes from my Nokia 6131 or by using PC Suite to my HTC Desire?

4. Does HTC have a phone management OS so I can manage my calendar and contacts easier from my PC?

5. I've tried to set up Exchange ActiveSync. The phone asked for username and password and others.

a. Which username do I use - (hotmail personal email, or goohlemail)

It then asked for

b. Email address - (again which one?)
c. Server address - (what is this?)
d. Domain - (what is this and what do I put in?)
e. Username - (again, what do I put)
f. Password - (again, what do I put)

A big kiss to any girl that helps me out
A firm handshake and manly hug to any dude that helps me out.

OK, I will do my best to answer what I can with the fairly limited knowledge I have :)

1) The Apps continue to run in the background but they use no CPU and Android will kill them if it needs the memory.

2) AFAIK they are just the last 6 used by Android/You. A bit like your recent list on Windows

3) Not sure really though you might want to sync to outlook and then sync to Desire from there. Others may be able to help more with this.

4) HTC doesn't but Google does when using a gmail account etc Again, other may be able to elaborate more depending on your exact requirements.

5) Pass, don't use this functionality.

Hey Dajomel.

Sorry for the late reply.

I just wanted to tank you so much for taking the time to reply.

The more time I spend with this phone the happy I get.

I haven't slept for 4 nights because I keep playing with it.

I have another question.

Which folder do I have to put music in to have the phone read it as a ringtone?

Thanks for help so far

a) Your (Microsoft Exchange) work email address (unless you have an exchange server at home?)

b) Your work email address
c) the ip address or dns host name of your work's exchange server
d)The domain name of your work's network#
e) Whatever username you log onto your work's computer as
f)Your works password for the username above.

Of course, your work would need to allow this functionaility first which many wont if its a personal device.

Hope this helps.

Hotmail will be using the exchange activesync soon though, so keep googling for updates. they may well publish settings once ready
