Yet another Evo issue that I don't have with my phone. I must be one of the lucky ones not to have any of these problems.

Really? I can reproduce this almost every time. Kinda cool actually lol. doesn't bother me too much since I like to hold my phone when I use it, but I had no idea grounding through your hand was almost necessary....crazy:p

Nope. Just tried it and it works fine. Sounds like there truly are some bad units out there but so far I don't have any of these issues outside of a tiny sliver of light at the bottom if I look at just the right angle when the buttons are lit.

Either way, if it turns out that I have one of these manufacturing defects, I will just swap it out within the year when they pop up. I kept my last phone as a backup for a reason. Such is life.

Now I thank god I didnt grab an EVO at launch. Im going to hold off until all of this 30fps lock, wacky wi-fi signal, grounding, screen separation crap gets fixed.

Yea it's been real tough waiting too but after everything I read after the pre launch (I was one of the lucky ones with a good pre) I won't ever buy the early batch of a new phone. The lack of availability on sprint.com has made it an easier wait but I'm getting very antsy. You would think by now they would have tweaked their lines to improve quality? Or is it still too soon?

Sigh. I told myself I should have waited too but at the rate that HTC fixes things (roughly a year), another phone will come out (which is not bad either). Add the fact that my girl wanted to get me a bday present... not sure if I should just return it since I haven't opened it except for the manuals package.

Well you have 30 days to return it so I would run a complete check of it and see if you have any issues or not. What do you have to lose?

Probably an invisible shield issue. I don't have a screen protector and mine works perfectly fine whether I am holding my phone or not. One more reason that I am glad that I don't have a screen protector if that's true.

Emac, are you using a screen protector with your EVO?

Yep, I am using the invisible shield screen protector (not the full body one though, just the screen one) and I have a case for it. I've tested this with my phone on my bed and on my desk and it works both ways. I'm really glad I don't have this problem or the screen separating / light leaking problems. My battery life isn't too bad either compared to what some people are reporting.

Unfortunately, I purchased it through Wirefly. Under their return policy, the phone must have no more than 30 minutes use. Crazy eh? If I don't follow that policy, I basically can't return it because if I try to return it via Sprint, a cancellation notice gets sent to Wirefly and I get a nice $300 charge on my credit card. :(

Wow, that sucks. I'd rather buy from Sprint or Best Buy just to avoid this sort of thing - even if it costs an additional ~$60.
