Where is the noob section?

There were a few threads here covering that exact question, I would suggest a search rather than redundancy. ;) hehe...

Welcome to the HERO, disregard all the naysayers, it's a GREAT handset. Enjoy!

HAppy TRails!

Check the stickies at the top of the forum, there is a LOT of useful information there.

Don't know how I missed this thread earlier today

There's an "everything you need to know about your ERIS" thread over in the HTC Droid Eris section that can apply to the Hero. The Sprint Hero and the Droid Eris are sort of like Camaro and a Firebird, the same thing under the hood but different bodies.

http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-eris/53708-everything-you-need-know-about-your-htc-eris.html

The physical differences are the Hero has buttons on the metal and, the Eris has touch buttons on the glass. And that you shouldn't try to flash a Hero rom into an Eris or Eris rom into a Hero (except for the Radio firmware) but that's all high-tech stuff that you probably won't have to mess with.
