Root With root, is there an app to change the orientation of the screen to upside down?

I've seen other android phones with custom roms to do this. Will we have to wait for a custom rom? Or is there an app that will change the orientation with root?

why would you want it upside down? i could see wanting landscape in each direction but why upside down?

The antenna is on the bottom. Holding it from the bottom seems to reduce signal strength and decrease battery life, which makes a difference in bad-signal areas. I would rather hold the phone so that the antenna faces upwards (like most phones).

I would love this, tbh I used my omnia lot in my Cup Holder so i could see it with the top of my car down, but the charger is in the lower bottom, same as the DInc, so You flip the phone over and chargers at top, hence you can put it in the cup holder and see the screen no matter how much sunlight is beaming down on top of you


Would be awesome to see this on my DInc, was quite disappointed knowing that the G sensor wasn't being used to the max it should be

As an RF engineer I can assure you that holding the phone upside-down will not make a difference.

As a former Samsung Omnia owner (which has the same antenna location) I can offer hard evidence that it does. I would be in areas with 1 bar, turn the phone upside down and the signal would go to 2, sometimes 3, bars. Makes a difference when surfing the web.

Some apps also don't display landscape except when the usb is at the bottom. It looks like they assumed the usb port would be in a dock and thus at the bottom. So if you have to rotate the other way (say you have a corded) it's upside down. The night clock comes to mind and there are others.

I just wanna be able to have it upside down, I actually put it in my cup holder today because couldn't see the screen in the sun light with car top down, but it doesn't sit right in cup holder unless upside down so everything was upside down....

seems like it should be easy, hope some one can do this

I can't believe this isn't a standard option, especially landscape. When you are using the DInc in landscape mode with two hands, your left thumb covers the light sensor, making the automatic brightness go way down.

I really like the automatic brightness EXCEPT for this annoying fact.
