I appreciate those pics. I for one do not think it looks bad. I always look at the front of the phone, so that back is really a non-factor for me. I suppose one has to look at the phone in person to really make a judgement call.

So, the real reason you got the battery, How's the battery life? Are you able to go for more than one day without charging?

Its our phone. We can be picky. It's not like we were rationed out government mandated phones and have to deal with what they give us. If I want to have a red case I can. A blue case? Cool. If some of you want a pink and black gradient case, that's awesome. Point is I don't want my phone looking like a brick phone from the early nineties. Extra car charger is better than I giant tumor battery.

Two reasons for the pickiness -

1) When we were first informed about the battery, the community was given the impression that it would add overall size to the back, rather than a big lump.

2) A big appeal of this phone is it's compact nature with power to spare. there are other powerful phones, but none quite as compact. Getting this battery just blows that out of the water.

But if you guys feel its a brick and makes it look like crap, that is your opinion. I already stated that it was my opinion for everyone being so picky. I for one feel its not that bad and will enjoy the extra battery life.

I'm confused man. Your pics look way better and way different than the ones posted by a different guy in Android Central: 2150 mAh battery and I LIKE IT!!!! - Page 4 - Android Central Forums. I have to ask, but is yours OEM, where and how did you order it. I don't get how supposedly the same product looks different for someone else. Is there maybe a different battery door version floating around.

I know this has already been said and said BUT disgusting!!!!!1 the second I opened the box i was disappointed. i almost cried because I was so excited. It destroys the phone. It's makes the phone gross.

i'll save it for times when I need a full day (on a trip or boat or something) but other than that forget it. i have never seen an extended battery make a phone as bad as this one does. NEVER!!!!!!

To say it's "not that bad" well it's not at all good. It is ugly plain and simple. There is no way around it. I want the extended battery but will wait first to see if any other Companies make a different extended back case first.

i just got my extended battery and backside. i am brand new to the incredible, got this one as an upgrade/refurb after my many moto droid fails, so it didn't come with the back. the verizon tech sent me the extended battery and backside for free (thank you, mr. verizon tech guy). since i don't know any different, maybe my opinion should be down-weighted, but i honestly don't think it's a problem. i can't put the silicone case i bought on it now, but at least my camera doesn't hit the table when i set it down, so i don't feel so bad not having a case. i just juiced it up for the first time, so i'll have to report back with how well the battery does.

the other thing i really like about the backside? it cradles in my palm really nicely. to me, that's a plus. anyhow, i'll report back on how the battery does. i've also got a regular battery i had previously ordered, but no standard backside for it, so i have to decide whether to just take that one back or get verizon to send me out the standard back, as well. i'll live with this for a few days before deciding.

btw...holy crap, but this is a crazy cool phone. coming from a moto droid, this thing is like a feather light powerhouse, even with the extended battery in there. >>wow<<

Is there currently a stock, 1750 battery that is available that will fit using the current stock battery cover?

I'm almost willing to keep the extended battery (comes in the mail tomorrow, per VZW) and find a cheap silicone skin (soft), in the hopes that the skin can stretch over the entire thing and hit the bulge in the back.

What do you guys think? If the battery lasts me well over a day with heavy use, I might just keep it, unless I feel the overall look of the phone (with skin) is unbearable.

I should check out those really cheap skins that someone posted a while back. Weren't they like $2.98 ?

I got mine in the mail today, and it is charging right now... I honestly do not think that the bulge in the back is as bad as people think. I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but the camera bulge is now covered up, and when I set my phone down it rests on the back of the phone as opposed to the camera. I also know that there is a piece of glass covering the actual camera lens, but it still gives me some piece of mind knowing that when I set my phone down I'm not at risk of scratching that glass cover. I'm a fairly moderate user, and if I can get close to 2 days without a charge, I will be extremely happy.

yes but ANY case you buy will accomplish this. Both the silicon cover and the case/holster from VZW provide this protection and the seidio case which is a thing of beauty does too. No buldge needed

I bought mine direct from Verizon. It might be the angle I took the pictures. I don't know!

Like I said I had it on for one day and it lasted almost twice as long, and I used it much more than normal today. I am VERY PLEASED with this battery!
